Is there a mod or a way to remove save restrictions? I'm tired of being arbitrarily unable to save my game. I was trying to fix a problem with the first 2 npcs you get after Imoen in BG1 but if I am in certain areas of the map or it is night the game restricts me from saving.

PS. Is there also a mod that allows you to move to another area without gathering your party?

Install the game to a directory that's not inside the Program Files directory, the cause of your problem is that you have an OS that restricts to this stupidity because the game is not certified for it(cause it's too old).

No, you can use the MoveToArea cheat, via the console:
CLUAConsole:MoveToArea("<string>")
, But that causes lag and other bad things, and you don't know the area names. Here's a list of the general BGII's areas. And here's the general BG1 areas, use the once in the (probably)BGT column.

Actually I never install anything into my "Program Files" directory and I have my game in the games directory on D drive so that isn't the problem. I didn't think that would be a file security problem since this only happens when I'm on certain parts of the map and at night and also when I go to same it says "You can't save at this time". I remember something like this before years ago when I played this soon after BGTutu came out.

If that is a security issue then I'll try and take ownership and set permissions again to see if that fixes it.

Then you are probably in a combat mode, which doesn't allow saves, sleeping or any of that, you either have to be on one point, and wait until you have been found and have killed every monster that chasing after you, or back up so much that they won't come after you anymore and wait a bit.

I started the game up again and slept and it was the same amount of time I did the last time (1 day 16 hours) and it was night again. I have already fully explored the map and went looking around till I could find a place where I could save and there were no enemies around. I finally found a place where I could rest at the upper left corner of the screen.

PS. Now that I think about it this has been happening since I entered the area where there were only 2 places I have been able to save or rest which one is in the upper left corner and the other was where I got Montaron and the other npc. I will be leaving the area now since I have done everything here so hopefully this doesn't continue.

PS. Just to be clear even after waking up there wasn't one enemy on the map.
