Come up with a DA II related contest and give it away as the first prize. ;)

Mine arrived today; I loaded it and was promptly greeted with the 'bugger off - it's not midnight' message . Sod it then - back to playing Origins....

About 3 hours into DA2.... wow... seriously... words fail. It's SHIT.

Horrible voice acting, overly simplified talent tree, and wtf is with such long cool down for heal? Horrible story so far, I really hate how they assume you know everyone in Kirkwall. I couldn't give a damn about most of people I've met so far. When Bethany died (I play mage), I was like, "ok, let's move on". Got extremely annoyed when "mother" always QQ about Bethany. I have no attachment with her whatsoever. From my perspective, I've known her for less than 5 mins before she died. Carver is becoming extremely annoying too. Boohoo your sister is an apostate and you are wannabe templar. Get over it. Only NPC I'm liking so far (altho, barely) is Aveline. Can't wait to get Anders....

And massive hate on dialogue wheel. This really reminds me of NWN2. That was step backward from original game and so is DA2.

This really reminds me of NWN2.

NWN2 was infinitely better than NWN thanks to Mask of the Betrayer.

I did not enjoy MotB at all. Mainly because of the horrible game mechanic.

So finally get to do it and........it doesn't work. <_<

Seriously as if I need more encouragement to not play the game.

The only things that really bug me are the insane cooldown on the heal spell...the average to below average of voice acting(not for all people but at least half if not more of the VA's)...the re-use of like almost every voice actor from DA:O and that your team members only have one set of armor that can get "upgraded" if I want to put blood dragon armor or the armor from dead space 2 on Aveline I damn well should be able too!

Other then that I dont mind much...the wheel of choices is not that bad imo...just like mass effect 2 but not nearly as good...but not bad either...Regardless I am having fun and enjoying most of it...and thats all that matters to me!

(lack of banters; nearly no spoilers, I think)
I'm nearly in the Deep Roads expedition - only one main quest to complete before that, and I'm really disappointed at the lack of banters: I bantered with my sister three(I think) times, two with Merrill and Varric and Aveline. Fenris has two banters, one of them at one of the game zone(also he interjects in everything and even speaks Qun). But Anders is, like, totally silent! Only one talk! Grr, and grrr again.

Ah well. Gonna meet someone from DA1 this evening. And then maybe, just maybe, I'll go to a brothel and reload. I haven't worked up the nerve to do it quite yet.

Did you go back to the "hospital" ?

Yeah, I did, quite a few times. Still, the only dialogue I got from Anders was after I completed Anders' quest("Tranquility").

So I had to reinstall with the anti virus turned off to get the thing working. <_<

Ugh I don't like the convo wheel at all, or the landscapes.

Only upside is that the tidbits of my origin save.

Personally, I'm watching my partner play through it at the moment and I'm really enjoying it. The part in Kirkwall before the Deep Roads expedition feels like Act II in BGII - open world, interesting quests, fun times exploring. I *love* the character line-up - I think it's more impressive than the original DA:O where only a few captured my heart. I'd say about the only thing I hate right now is the stupid dialogue wheel not matching what you actually say. That, and the odd tendency for quests to be resolved by the NPC in question literally throwing themselves at me begging to be killed... it's a little bit too easy a resolution for a supposedly 'dark' fantasy.

But yes. Really enjoying the general feel of it so far! :D

Through lightning, travel shadow,
Through hell and all above,
Surviving sword and arrow,
Bound stronger by the love

And in the end a witness,
To where the death has lain,
Silent through the sorrow,
Where innocents lie slain

Has anyone gotten the import save option to work and if so what does it add? As for game the start not the best one, still better then say Tempel of Trials in F2. But what I dont understand is their need to recycle same maps over and over.

Import saves add small quests related to what you did with the werewolves/ashes/etc. Also, the kind/queen is supposed to be present in Act 3(will probably see today). And Merrill speaks of my Dalish Warden in banters sometimes.

Well... I've just finished the game. That was quite interesting. It sucked me right into the game as it progressed. The beginning was extremely boring but as the story picked up, I just couldn't stop playing it.

I romanced Anders and earned friendship of most of the companions. I didn't have max influence with Merrill, Fenris and Carver and yet they still joined me in final fight. Strange. Cullen also joined me in final fight :o!

Not opening your spoiler: still in Act 3.

EDIT: Did, finished and read it. I hear you. I just read some othe journals, and they, too, say: "hey, now, where's DA3?" But now I'm not sure whether I want to see Hawke or Warden more! :) (Anyway, just opened a spoiler topic for those who finished the game).

And so many side quests are not working, it's frustrating. :( Both in Act 2 and Act 3. I finished Act 1 so nicely and cleanly, everything fininshed, all loot gathered, all quests done, and then - bah! Bugs.

So, a bit late to the party but now I've finally got it, too.

I don't have much to say, so far, since I haven't had time to play much - playing with a female rogue Hawke. The combat is a bit dull, all my Hawke does is jump and stab, jump and stab, but I rarely care about combat unless it's utterly and completely worthless.

It does annoy me, however, that what I want her to say never matches what she actually says. Ugh!

I thought I was impressive doing over 2000+ damage with my Archer but then one of my mages does 18299. :o
