Cheers,

after receiving a diabetes-diagnosis, I will stop to work on BWP / BWS (need to do some other things).

If you want to, you can fetch the BWS here, edit links, mods and such things and publish it somehow (GPL v2-compatible). Read the FAQ that ships in the download-package if you'd like to know how to configure the BWS.

You don't have to know how to code.
If you really want to start, I could give you some hints if you need them.
Maybe you want to check the German topic if you want to.

Thanks to all the contributers.

Dabus, sorry to hear about your new life situation. I think most of us know the feeling you are having. Life challenges hit all of us eventually, some people get hit harder than others. Thank you for the great BWS program it rocks and best of luck as you walk the rest of your path.

Take care of yourself! :(
Diabetes isn't as bad as it seems (i have it).

I've know people "growing out" of diabetes granted it wasn't genetic. Thank you for your contributions!

With no coding knowledge, one could only check for updated mod downloads/non-working links and figure out mod incompatibilities, right?

Would that involve manually checking every link every few days?
And how would one figure mod incompatibilities? I suppose Near Infinity or DLTCEP(sp?) knowledge is desired?

I've created a script that checks for links (runs with AutoIt3 and it's code-editor).
It tells you if there are changes and if downloads are missing.
You could also watch the changes on the Kerzenburg-site.

I've got no idea about incompatibilities and just put in those that I could fetch from tp2-files, documentation and such. And I have not worked with Near Infinity or DLTCEP.

Like I said in the other topic, the diagnose is an unfortunate one, but at least now you now what's up, and you can manage it with the right diet. Yes, I have the youth type diabetes too, the one you cannot just "growing out" of, as it requires insulin shots every time I eat, but one gets used to them after the 1000th...

Deactivated account. The user today is known as The Imp.

Hi dabus:

I am sorry to here you have been diagnosed with diabetes. I have had it for 15-20 years now. Just a reminder to take your meds, eat frequent small meals, stay away from carbs, and exercise. I am sure you have already heard all this.

Thanks for the great work on BWP. I have spent the last 4 weeks tearing into BWP Install.bat so I really got to see how much effort was put into BWP. What really impressed me was the amount of information about mod conflicts, component conflicts, installation order, mod corrections, and needed changes made to the installation files. But like a typical male, I read instructions last, after the mega-mod does not work.

Thanks again for all you have done to make Baldur's Gate games a terrific, greatly enjoyable experience.

Tom

OOPS! I have been notified that dabus' contribution is BWS, not BWP. I assumed that he was part of a group that worked on the entire BiG World Project as the files all seem to work together. As part of my delving into BWP Install.bat, I also spent many hours looking into the workings of BWS. Lots of very good information in that program about mod and component compatibility.

Tom

Does this mean that the BWS beta will never recieve mod updates unless someone takes it over?

(currently it can not update itself, which is crucial for a correct installation)

I hate to sound like a jerk or a downer, but the links in the first post do not work.

It's a sad thing, I hope that someone continues your awesome work.

It has been 10 years when I last played Baldur's Gate and decided to go for the BWS month or so back, it worked like a charm and I really liked how simple things were for the user. I've been enjoying playing the game so far.

Shame that the links don't seem to work anymore. :(

And the very second post in that linked thread brought me here.

It's been a month and the account was canceled.
Fetch it from Fileplanet or SHS. It's still the version from the beginning of may and you still won't get updates.
