Erephine: I put the Dragon files in the Override. Now I got this error:

Spoiler

Any suggestions?

Seems like it's failing to uninstall something? Starting afresh would be my best bet.

I've installed the new version 1pp v4 and it's working fine! :lol2:

Excellent work, Erephine! :new_thumbs:

Is the installer of the uploaded version estill broken/requiring you to restart after each component? I can't remember whether I got around to updating with the fixed one or not.

I just tried it and the installer is still broken. Had to quit and restart for each component. The fixed version isn't there anymore either since megaupload got closed down.

Hey Erephine, any chance that you could update the full "fix combat animations bug" component to patch player script files, rather than overwrite?

Possible, but a fair bit of work/testing.

Is it currently an issue?

The 'issue' is that it overwrites scripts that were fixed by the IWD fixpack. Even if you adopt the fixpack as your template by which to update, then you are stil beholden to update the scripts when the fixpack updates. It seems like direclty patching the .bcs files is the most direct way to avoid problems, now and in the future.

» Restore combat stance animations in Icewind Dale

Pretty self-explanatory. Icewind Dale doesn't render combat stance animations (always defaulting to the idle animations) which sometimes looks a bit off since the attack animations themselves are made to fit the unplayed sequences. If you install this component, animations render the way they do in Baldur's Gate.

If I am not wrong , the same problem occurs for IWDII. IS it possible to make this component also compatible for IWD II ?

Does the IWD fixpack patch the BCS files? If so, there should not be any issues if it's installed after.

Any chances for a re-upload?

[EDIT] Apparently not...

So I used the old installer and I have the same issue as mssellerie69, namely, the lack of mwdrsd.bam while installing the idle stances component. Copying the provided dragon files fixes the problem which is weird as I checked with NearInfinity the clean install files and mwdrsd.bam along other dragon files is already listed. I have the full install of the Polish version, 1.42 TotL for the clarity.

I think there's something with the WeiDU installation, fixable in TP2. Don't know how though smile.gif
The mentioned problem workaround is:
- install 1st component, quit
- install 2nd component, quit
- install 3rd component
If installing them without quit there's an error about the wrong EXE version.

Worked! Thanks for the workaround!

help?

Like ScuD said, push Q, then restart the setup-file and install next component, then quit again and restart the  setup... the installer probably just needs time to save the changes.

Yep, Jarno Mikkola. my Mega Mod FAQ. Use of the BWS, and how to use it(scroll down that post a bit).
OK, desert dweller, welcome to the sanity, you are free to search for the limit, it's out there, we drew it in the sand. Ouh, actually it was still snow then.. but anyways.

Yikes, and this hasn't been fixed after 3+ years :(

I found that if you hit the install failure, you have to uninstall all fixes and start over with ScuD's workaround. In other words, you can't install the 2nd component if you've already triggered the error during any run of the installer, except by uninstalling the 1st component and then using ScuD's method.

Are short swords suppose to show up on character sprites as long swords, or is this a bug? And is there a way to fix/edit them back to the shorter looking graphic without breaking anything?

The link seems to be dead. Does anyone have a copy of the fix? Or is it no longer necessary?

Hello

I am really amazed that people still take interest in these old games and modify them in such way. After a long time I want to go back to play all of them with these modifications, especially with animations fixes. I see that you can modify BG2 and IWD to use old (legacy) animations from BG1, but is it possible to modify vanilla IWDII in the same way?
