Hey, relatively new to the boards, and I recently re-discovered BG II. Anyways, I just had a question - to my everlasting annoyance and regret, I didn't manage to complete much of Edwin's romance prior to the Underdark, resulting in him giving me the Nether Scroll Quest at the same time as Bodhi's taunts. Unfortunately, she didn't take him, and I was wondering if it was at all possible to either change a few Shadowkeeper variables, or anything with the CLUA Console to continue his romance? As it is, he's currently transformed, and despite repeated use of the AdvanceRealTime command, I'm afraid I seem to have run out of LTs with him. Does anyone have any advice or help for any possible solutions? I'm decidedly uninterested in restarting my game, though I suspect I will eventually, as I want to do at least one Kensage/thief run, and I could very easily do it on that run. That being said, however, I am was planning to continue this game into TOB, but I don't particularly have any terribly strong desire to play TOB more than a few times, due to the depressing linearity of it. Any suggestions?
Oh, and I do still have an Underdark Save, so I'm going to just try a Move to Area command, and see if I can do everything involving that first.

If, of course, this board is still alive xD

Dunno ye worry; I lurk here quite often - and almost literally know everything about this mod (in-game and scripting :))

That's understandable: with the start of chapter 4, his romance dialog timers reset back to the default duration. But to solve I'll need more details, like did Degardan show up? How much time passed since his last lovetalk and etc. :)

To progress (the Bodhi encounter) the variable must EDWINROMANCEACTIVE be set 2 (devoted romance stage)
If you like to play beforehand LTs use this: set the EdwinRomanceDegardan variable to 1 (but with this you'll have to wait to Degardan to show up for the first time, trying doing side-quests to kill the time :D) Degardan does not show up the chapter 5, though.

Hmmm, that's actually very helpful. Ironically enough, though I now have a new problem. Due to my unending idiocy, I managed to get the game to crash upon loading every time. Still have no idea what I actually did, because I'm smart like that, but I ended up just uninstalling and reinstalling the game. Which is fine, since I had been putting off my Kensthief playthrough for far too long now. In any event, I decided not to let the same thing happen this time around, so I just used the advancerealtime command, which worked like a charm. What didn't work like a charm, on the other hand, was when Edwin tried to use the Neather Scroll Transformation. The portrait changed, he transformed, yet the only dialogue option that showed up was the one where you normally talk to him - the one where you say "Edwin, you odd" instead of the dialogue prompted by the transformation. And then he has that incredibly aggravating purple border around him which, while you can get rid of via saving and loading, is decidedly detrimental to his usage as a character, given that he stops and pauses every few seconds. Stuttering, as it were. I had this problem once before, before I installed the romance mod, but it was caused by the Staff of the Magi, oddly enough, so I merely unequipped that that time. I tried the same this time around, though I'm fully aware the problem is something else, as evidenced by the fact that even when he has no equipment on him the same thing occurs. The only possible factor I can conceive of that would affect Edwin would be my usage of the Level 1 NPCs mod, which I used to change him into a sorcerer because I like ludicrously overpowered characters (I'm using Tactics, don't look at me like that xD), but I can easily change that back using ShadowKeeper.
Uh, besides that I'm not terribly far into the game, though I'd obviously prefer not to restart once again, I can easily just spawn a killsword and run through all the quests to get back to this point in a relatively short amount of time.
Anyways, thanks a ton for the earlier help, and I'm sorry to be such a bother with this.

EDIT: Bizarrely enough, I tried it a couple more times, and shockingly enough, it actually worked. So while I still have utterly no idea what the initial problem was, it's evidently working now. Weird.

May I ask what precisely did you try? ;)

Don't worry about PIDs and this point: as Laufey pointed out she actually on purpose disabled the flirting with Edwin, during the nether scroll test. Or someone might get a wrong idea... *cough* Purple border will actually 'wear off' when he initiates his vanilla talk ('This is outrageous! A crime against nature and order', I believe.) But since you used AdvanceTime and then reloaded, you kinda skipped it and that's why he began to stutter (stuttering means that script tries to fire, since it true, but something keeps getting in the way) AFAIK, the level one NPCs have nothing to do this it. As well as Tactics.

Hmm? Oh, no I didn't actually use advance time or reloading with this purple border bug - just reloaded, slept a few times, stripped Edwin (always fun!), and got a few outstanding talks with Viconia out of the way, which could've potentially caused it, I guess. Ctrl-R'd him too, just in case there was a silence spell on him or something (I know that actually changes dialogue in game, amusingly enough). Really no clue. Anyways, it's all working now, fortunately, Edwin's back to normal, Degardan showed up, got the personal item, Degardan showed up again and died a painful death, a few more lovetalks progressed, they spent the night together, and chea xD.
So it's all working now, I think, unless I screwed something up - don't know if there are any more LTs until after the underdark, but we'll see, I guess. Haven't actually gone to Spellhold yet, though lord knows I've done nearly every other Chapter 2 quest. SO I think I'm fine right now, unless there's something I'm missing. I read somewhere in one of the Worst of the Worst threads on the GameFAQs BG II board that there was something about spending the night in a Tavern, but since mods really are the only way you get to experience that sensation of discovery that we all had the first time we played the game, I don't have any burning desire to know every single step. Unless it should've occurred by now, in which case I do, because I probably screwed something up again.
