I'm running BG2 on my laptop, looks fine, no graphic glitches or audio glitches that I've noticed so far, but movement is quite slow...it seems to take triple the amount of time for characters to move from point a to point b as it does on my older comp.  Haven't really fiddled with much to try and fix yet, any suggestions?

Is it that the characters move slow, or that they leap from place to place and what resolution do you use ?

If it's the slow movement, you might want to uninstall the BGTutu slow movement mod... :D

If it's the leaping movement, follow the instructions to remove the lag that's causing it.

And if it's the last, get your head out of the sand and realize that when you double the screen size, your characters will move slower in the relation of screen size.

Anyways, it's good for everyone to read through this topic, even if you don't want to make large installs.

...

...or you could just increase Maximum Frame Rate (found in baldur.ini) from 30 to 45 or 60.

Increasing frame rate is probably not a good idea, unless you're using a machine that's from another country (meaning outside the States).

- Erysseril Gwaethorien: a joinable, romanceable NPC mod for BGII - SoA/ToB, in sporadic development.

A female elf warrior of nature and a Bhaalspawn cross paths during their quests, joining forces to share adventure and companionship. Will they find more?

Could you please elaborate? I'm really curious about mechanics beyond such differentiation.

Unexpected results may occur if animations on the screen move too quickly (a trap might not trigger when it should, something might be missed being detected, etc.). Test and see, I guess. 30 fps is standard speed for video in the States, and it's my understanding that there are other countries where a different rate is the standard.
