hi, i had to format again and lost my bg install, so i have reinstalled
i do not want to play through bg1 again, so i understand i can begin from bg2
but what disadvantages does this have? could i have visited bg1 locations during BG2 if i have played through bg1?
i will be missing items, charecters from bg1 if i have not played it through? or any continued quests in bg2 that i would miss?

No - unfortunately - you can't return to BG areas.

Depending on your install (megamod?) you may probably find -almost- all items from BG1 in various places through SoA (Stores/loots/containers).
Also you will start fresh in Irenicus dungeon whereas if you had made the BGT transition and had some mod I don't remember, you would find many (cheesy) items on a table in the duergar room.

Without cheating... so if you like to, you can by inserting area code to the Console.No - unfortunately - you can't return to BG areas.
And again we are in the wrong forum section this should be in the BGT-Weidu forums.

i see, so i'm not missing an entire lot by not going through BG1 again
and sorry for posting in wrong forum, i did't realise that the mega installation used today was still "weidu" i thought that was the old complex way we used to install the mod thats why i did't post there.. should probaly rename that forum
