They probably just forgot to put PC - it's assumed. The thing they are really trying to advertise here is that it will be optimized and released on previous-gen consoles as well as the next-gen consoles. It's a good marketing point - many people are not ready to hand over the money for the new consoles yet and they don't have a computer with the cpu/gpu power to run the game on anything but a console. That Frostbite engine looks hardcore. :)

If it runs on a previous gen console, shouldn't it be also running on that gens equivalent PC ? I swear it's like the ad industry is skewed to unfavor the PC usage.

Yep, Jarno Mikkola. my Mega Mod FAQ. Use of the BWS, and how to use it(scroll down that post a bit).
OK, desert dweller, welcome to the sanity, you are free to search for the limit, it's out there, we drew it in the sand. Ouh, actually it was still snow then.. but anyways.

Remember that the architecture of last gen's consoles is different than PCs. That's also why games that were originally optimized for say, PS3, tend to handle crappily on a PC. It's going to run on older PCs (also remember the old gen is over 6 years old, more like 8..whenever those consoles came out). Will it be beautiful? Probably not. But as games get better looking, so must the technology running it. I have no doubt that someone's 2008 computer will run Inquisition. It just won't be at max settings.

It's easy for people to get stuck in their current PC build and forget that technology moves forward with or without them.

I hope BioWare isn't too uptight about modding regarding the Inquisition, because a high-res texture pack or two could certainly help PC players with newer hardware. That's how Bethesda has been getting by for many years - the games endure the longest on PC because of the modding community.

I think that would depend on the engine they are using. Is Frostbite easily modded? (if at all)

Bethesda iirc, handrolled their own engines, which is probably why it was a lot easier to make it mod-friendly.

DICE made a comment to the effect that Frostbite 2 was too complex to be modded, and didn't release any modding tools for it. Then someone modded it anyway. After that there came some other mods as well.

As for Frostbite 3, I've got no idea if EA/DICE will clamp down when it comes to other games besides Battlefield, but I suspect they might, given the progress so far.

That just shows how ignorant the replier was given to be(as in, it was a performance role )... I am sure he had a good reason other than the actual complexity that drove him to give that answer, like say the money loose the company could take say if there was a mod that goes to hotcakes and next game won't sell so good(or hurt the proffit margins of DLC content !!! ). One of the ME3 weapon packs can be moded into the game ... for free. And had the DLCs been put to not actually store some part of the DLC weapon, all of them could be. Stiil, in the end, the measure didn't actually prevent it from happining.

So, under estimation peoples skill at anything that you can't even make a proper copy protection to is, lets say, misguided.

News:
Release Date Announced, New Trailer, Digital Deluxe Edition & Pre-Order Bonuses @ Eurogamer

No word about the physical Collector's Edition yet... I'm on the fence about buying it. I think I promised myself to stop buying them, and to be honest I haven't bought physical copies of games in a long while now (Far Cry 3), but I do have all the BioWare ones so far. It really needs to be damn good though. I guess I'll wait and see.

I have no such qualms as I loved DA2.  ;)  I'll definitely be preordering, probably the deluxe edition.

Just pre-ordered the DDE. If my past record is anything to go by, it will get installed but not played until the first patch is released.

Dragon Dance-delux Entertainment... erhm WHAT ? Fun = Yes + the ironic&invisible digital delux edition moch...

It's actually likely that there will be a patch for the game at launch, so.

BioWare is helping you plan your Dragon Age: Inquisition character with this class breakdown @ Polygon

Why, why did they not just consider the DAII's system without a class identity ? The simple idea that as you gain levels, you can actually freely select the skill trees you take, similar like the specialization but with far more options. It's kinda mod-able in the DAII's system, but the easiest way is just of course cheat the skill trees in in the save games. As the access to the tree is actually a skill of it's own.

Okay, a Dragon Age stronghold in Ferelden sounds fun. But Redcliffe Castle doesn't make any sense: "This village is itself teeming with merchants and fishermen"? "the wall that guards one of Ferelden’s most prosperous towns"? What if Redcliffe's been abandoned in DAO? The epilogue said it has become a ghost town, hasn't it?

Honestly, I think Highever, Gwaren, or Denerim would have been better choices for a Ferelden stronghold. Mostly due to the fact that Redcliffe can become a ghost town if the Warden chose to abandon it.

I hope Solas is romancible. While, at the same time, I hope Varric stays as the BFF of the protagonist.

Given the insane amount of Varric!love the fans exhibited after DA2, I... kind of doubt he'll be just the BFF for women. I'd actually be curious to see how they pulled off a Varric romance from a character/writing perspective, heh.

I'm set romance-wise with Dorian. Dat mustache. :D

Oh, I know. I guess I'm just one of those people that will always ship Varric x Bianca.

Otherwise, I'm more into Cassandra, I'll have to make a male dalish for that one.

I don't know - romancing Varric is just like romancing Tyrion Lannister. I'm okay with having the guy as a friend, but... but... just no. (And, yeah, it hurts me that Cullen couldn't romance the Mage female Warden, Varric wouldn't romance female Hawke, and now Cullen's romanceable and Varric might be, too).

But really, I just don't see other romance candidates for girls. Both that Warden and that Qunari guy look horrible: Warden looks like somebody's grand-uncle, Qunari guy is, well, Qunari; Dorian is much more attractive. Giving guys an attractive male and giving girls ugly ones wouldn't work, so... I don't know. We'll see, I guess.

Another thing about Varric is that he would have to be race specific, since in DA2 he says that he's only into dwarf women.
