04/29/2012 23:30 - User-PC\User - Action: Create an EasyTutu Installation
x64 platform detected.
Baldur's Gate 1 folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\Atari\DnDMC\Baldur's Gate
Baldur's Gate 2 folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\Atari\DnDMC\Baldur's Gate II
Target folder: C:\EasyTuTu
Pre-validating setup actions list...
A required source file (C:\Program Files (x86)\Atari\DnDMC\Baldur's Gate II\bgate2.mpi) is missing!

This comes up when I first tried installing EasyTuTu on a clean copy of bg&bg2. I bought the DnD Anthology collection on GoG.com I think for $5. Not sure if that matters.

Three things:
1) You installed in the default location within Program Files.
Reinstall elsewhere C:\Games or C:\Black Isle or Z:\Why_The_Heck_Did_I_Put_It_Here would all work ^^
Windows protects the Program Files directory. Playing the unmodified game works, but trying to modify them = nightmare.

2) Perform a FULL install as is instructed on the EasyTutu page

3) Initialize the games by starting them each all the way thru character creation (can use import and a bioware default) to a saveable point. Doing this sets certain game files and ensures that the conversion process will work smoothly

I can't talk you thru how to install to a custom location with those particular versions of the games, there is a way tho cause others have done it, you'll just have to take a look and see.

Try these things, if you are still having problems afterwards... feel free to post about it at the Tutu forums (if you haven't done so already) so Macready will be more likely to see your problem and assist you.

You do have the DnD Anthology, right? That had a missing file with bgate2.mpi. Here is a clean version, so that EasyTuTu works. Make sure you extract to the Baldur's Gate II directory.

At this point, I'm not really doing much Baldur's Gate related. More focused on Skyrim modding and the Born of Legend tabletop roleplaying game. Don't expect much activity here.

I dropped a note over at the EasyTutu forum about that missing file. I did not know about that. Hopefully Macready will include the information & a link perhaps to the missing file. Still if after applying the missing file the games won't convert to EasyTutu, trying what I suggested earlier won't hurt either.

Thanks for the response. I thought maybe being a guest, I wouldn't get much of a reply. I did what Sasha said and re-installed my Dnd anthology to C:/Games and currently the EasyTutu is working and is already past the bgate2.mpi mess up.

Thanks for the help too, William. Lets see if this continues to work.
