I just recieved this item but its only a plain +3 short sword. Has anyone else experienced this? I reloaded the game a few times and then it finally appeared in my inventory as the actually SSoB. Just a bit odd. Anyway, just wanted to let you guys know.

Where exactly did you receive it?
With RR installed, Renal Bloodscalp no longer gives the Short Sword of Backstabbing to the party as a reward. You can get it in Chapter 6 by requesting Aran's aid against Bodhi or in Chapter 3 by siding with Bodhi and killing Aran. This is noted in the readme.

Yep I got it from Aran. It might be just on my end. I had to reload my save twice before it appeared correctly.

Sometimes, if you click through the dialogue too quickly, the engine doesn't have time to set the relevant variables. That can cause certain issues, including the one you described.
It's also possible that another mod has altered Aran's dialogue and created a conflict of some sort.

Yea I do click through the dialogue rather quickly since I've played through the game so many times. So that's definitely a possibility. The main mods I have going are widescreen, fix and tweak packs, a couple of NPC mods, and RR. Now I have installed and uninstalled components in the tweak pack and RR mod. Not sure if that causes problems since I know the tweak pack needs to be installed last.
