I've been playing through BG2 with a ranger/cleric (ranger dualled to cleric at level 9, good aligned) and have hit upon a problem I've never encountered before. And lord knows I've played this game about a zillion times!

I went through the Temple District during the thief quest and got the Gaal scene as normal. The Lathander priest approached me and asked me to go see him, again normal (for a good cleric character). But I put it off and ultimately decided I'd rather have the ranger stronghold in this game so I finished up the thieves, the Planar Prison, Shade Lord dungeon (being awarded the ranger stronghold for this) and then the Planar Sphere.

Then I returned to the Temple District and now the Dawnlord has nothing to say to me. I'm guessing it's because I took the ranger stronghold and this created an issue somewhere. I am running a few mods but have run the same mods previously without causing this problem.

Any way to fix this, either via the console or Shadow Keeper?

Did you check Temple of Helm? I thought it was there even for good-aligned characters, then when the Unseeing Eye quest is over you get quests from Lathander Morninglord?

Not if you're a good-aligned priest - then you get Lathander (since that's your stronghold. Likewise, evil priests are approached by a stormlord of Talos). I think it screwed up because I accepted the ranger stronghold whilst that quest was pending.

I did some Googling and was able to fix it by creating the global BEHOLDERPLOT and setting it to 1 in Shadow Keeper.

I'd have to check after BG2fixpack but in vanilla install Cleric/Ranger isn't checked to trigger cleric specific dialogues.so you might have gotten Helmites instead of Lathanderites.

Err you didn't install fixpack and I doubt any of the other ones you have installed change that dialogue file (except for added interjection checks for new NPCs)

In my files (BWP install) there is a CLERIC_RANGER trigger and I can only assume it is added by BG2 fixpack~

EDIT : bit from fixpack documentation

Interesting. I wasn't going to ask for the cleric stronghold, as it goes (I've played clerics recently but haven't played a ranger for years) so that wasn't a problem for me. The problem was that the priest who told me to go see him after Gaal's public rant was definitely Lathander, yet he had nothing to say to me once inside the temple. (I checked the Helm temple and Oisig wasn't there at all).

After the Unseeing Eye quest was completed, I got the Sarles quest from the Helmites, however.
