Sheryl's Quest, find her dad.

I have found her father but the ring wasn't on him. Or if it was, I must have misplaced it. I have checked with all merchants already and I havn't sold it to anyone. And I know that I havn't dropped any items.

It's really anoying. Is there some way to cheat and get her fathers ring? The item is called Arkin's Ring.
