I have a onboard sound card and it is causing massive stuttering. I know this because i disabled them and it fixed the major stuttering.

Is their a fix for this.

Tried installing the latest audio drivers from your motherboard manufacturer's support site? If doing that doesn't fix the stuttering, there really aren't any unofficial fixes around.

Something to keep in mind though... quite a few integrated sound solutions actually don't process the sound on the hardware side, but instead opt for a software-based solution, which in turn utilizes your CPU for the audio processing, thus creating stuttering when the CPU can't handle the game and sound processing at the same time. I would wager that this is pretty close in your case - this isn't necessarily a knock on your CPU, but more on the poor efficiency of the software-based sound processing.

If you can, run a test using a dedicated sound card with the onboard sound disabled. You can also use a dedicated USB sound card for this test if you're using a laptop. For desktops, affordable-but-decent replacement options include Asus Xonar DG (5.1 channels) and Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE (7.1 channels).

I had problems with my "Realtek" audio Card with the latest WHQL Microsoft driver on my previous Windows XP computer (blue screen when playing BG2 every few hours...).
I had to use the previous drivers (not WHQL) and everything was normal again.

I have stuttering not blue screen.

Yes, but you could try to upgrade your driver (best way) or downgrade (worst way) if you can't upgrade like me and see if it changes something...

Try to lower the hardware-acceleration for the card. I had similar issues when trying out Lionheart and solved it that way (had the second lowest option).

I couldnt change it because it was greyed out. However i did research and found out turning classic windows theme on is like lowering acceleration. That fixed my lag.

I have 1 issue well more of an annoyance. When i exit baldurs gate i get a crash.

Anways to fix this.

I've never encountered any problems with Baldur's Gate, and I use Realtek HD audio. Sorry, I can't really help you with your problem here.
At this point, I'm not really doing much Baldur's Gate related. More focused on Skyrim modding and the Born of Legend tabletop roleplaying game. Don't expect much activity here.
