Hello,

I am experiencing problems with DSotSC areas during my current playthrough of a modded BGT (see WeiDu log). I had no problems with DSotSC before, but that was before I've completely reinstalled the game and added "few" other mods on top.

So, what is the problem? When I enter some of the DSotSC areas (area is loaded with no problems), the game freezes immediately and then crashes to destkop few moments later - this is not a random problem, it concerns specific areas (I know about these so far: DS004, DSC012, DSC015, DSC016, I haven't got any further) and makes them completely inaccesible. I have even tried to move my party there using console, but the result is the same.

Does anyone please have an idea, what migh have caused these crashes? I suppose, there is no workaround or better solution than reinstalling the game (or in better case just uninstalling some of the mods), but if anyone has the slightiest idea what other content may be the root of my problem, so I can exclude them from my next install, I would be very grateful.

Thank you for your time.

Spoiler

Do you still have the setup-dsotsc.debug file?

Where (in what folder) have you installed the game?

Yes, I have the file and it is in the game directory.

I've received it. Could you please also enable logging and attach baldur.err? (see my signature - how to report CTDs)

Hello again,

I've been swamped by work and mostly cut off from my computer, not to mention the chances to play the game, but I got back to it finally. Thank you again for your time, but I have encountered another problem: I read your instructions, I've enabled logging and I reproduced the crash several time on different places I've mentioned - but "baldur.err" reamins empty, apart from growing number of "---------------------Start Logging Session---------------------" lines :(

Usually, when areas load correctly and crash shortly after, it is a problem of scripts. Try to open the areas with Near Infinity, open the area script, and see if NI gives you any warning.
I think there is some kind of script debugging tool but I don't know exactly where you can find it.

It seems, that I am a lost case :P NearInfinity doesn't mention any problems with scrips for problematic areas. Anyway, I encountered few other places, that crash my game to destkop, but in a different way (not after loading) and they mostly have no connection with DSotSC (some of them are in SoA, or even in ToB part of the game). That means, that the problem is larger or that I have more than one problem and so it belongs to DSotSC forum. And so I decided to reinstall the game and try a different mods configuration.

Thanks for your time and effort Turambar. I really appreciate it.

To correct myself: "so it doesn't belong to this forum". As a guest, I can't correct my previous posts of course.

Try running Crefixer on your install if you already haven't :)
