After approaching ME3 with somewhat refreshed eyes after months of not playing it, I've found myself more charitable to the game and attempted to buy the Leviathan DLC. However, I've encountered an error that google hasn't been able to help with: after I put in my credit card, it gives me Error Code NU2021, which it says should result from buying points through a third-party website. But I'm not. I'm doing so from the Origin overlay in ME3 itself. Worse, it seems to have charged me for it - twice, as I was stupid and tried again after the first error. >_>

Anyone have any ideas?

I had some troubles checking out from Paypal on Origin (the credit card got charged but the transaction didn't complete correctly), it solved itself in a couple of days.

Aside: why on Earth would you use your credit card directly when dealing with a non-financial institute?

I'll wait and see, then.

I've never had trouble with it before. Or with Steam. Though I do trust Valve a heck of a lot more than Origin. And personally, I don't trust paypal.

All is well is good until somebody breaks into EA's network and dumps to the Internet a copy of a CUSTOMER_CREDIT_CARDS database that shouldn't have existed in the first place (see: the Sony fiasco last year).

Paypal, being a financial institute, is at least more likely to adhere to credible security practices.

I tend to assume nothing, and did delete my credit card info. Which probably doesn't actually get rid of anything.

This might seem silly, but did you try contacting EA with this issue? Maybe they can help when you give them the error code? I'm guessing you can't be the only person this has happened to. :( Hope it works out.

And for the record, I use Paypal. ;)

I would agree here: I think contacting Origin tech support would be best.

Also, I would advise against using your primary credit card in Internet transactions: your bank will very likely offer you a cheap(5-10$ a year) virtual Visa/Mastercard debet card. But yeah, PayPal's probably better: in Russia we don't have full access to PayPal(no receiving money back through our banks).

Noted, then. Might be a bit late at this point - I doubt deleting my debit card info from Origin actually gets rid of its record - but I will use paypal from here on out.
