This power creates one 1st-level astral construct of solidified ectoplasm that attacks your enemies. It appears where you designate and attacks your opponents to the best of its ability. You can mentally direct it not to attack, to attack particular enemies or to perform other actions.

Astral constructs are not summoned; they are created on the plane you inhabit (using ectoplasm drawn from the Astral Plane). Thus, they are not subject to effects that hedge out or otherwise affect outsiders; they are constructs, not outsiders.

Augment: For every 2 additional power points you spend, the level of the astral construct increases by one.

Cold: A ray of this energy type deals +1 point of damage per die.
Electricity: Manifesting a ray of this energy type provides a +2 bonus on your attack roll and a 10% bonus on your checks for the purpose of overcoming power resistance.
Fire: A ray of this energy type deals +1 point of damage per die.

Augment: For every additional power point you spend, this power's damage increases by one die (d6).

Matter Agitation

You can excite the structure of a nonpsionic, nonmagical object, heating it to the point of combustion over time. The agitation grows more intense in the second and third rounds after you manifest the power, as described below.

1st Round: Readily flammable material (paper, dry grass, tinder, torches) ignites. Skin reddens (1 point of damage).

2nd Round: Wood smolders and smokes, metal becomes hot to the touch, skin blisters (1d4 points of damage), hair smolders, paint shrivels, water boils.

3rd and Subsequent Rounds: Wood ignites, metal scorches. Skin burns and hair ignites (1d6 points of damage), lead melts.

Concealing Amorpha

Using concealing amorpha, you weave a quasi-real membrane around yourself. You remain visible within the translucent, amorphous enclosure. This distortion grants you concealment (opponents have a -2 penalty to missile and melee combat attacks against the manifester), thanks to the rippling membrane encasing your form. You can pick up or drop objects, easily reaching through the film. Anything you hold is enveloped by the amorpha. Likewise, you can engage in melee, make ranged attacks, and manifest powers without hindrance.


Animal Affinity

You forge a psychometabolic affinity with an idealized animal form, thereby boosting one of your ability scores (choose either Strength, Dexterity, Constitution, Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma). The power grants a +4 enhancement bonus to the ability score you choose, adding the usual benefits provided by a high ability bonus. If you choose to increase the ability you use to manifest powers, you do not gain the benefit of an increased ability score long enough to gain any bonus power points for a high ability score.


Empathic Transfer

You heal another creature's wounds, transferring some of its damage to yourself. When you manifest this power, you can heal as much as 2d10 points of damage. The target regains a number of hit points equal to the dice result, and you lose hit points equal to half of that amount. (This loss can't bring you to 0 or fewer hit points.)

Alternatively, you can use this power to absorb poison or disease afflicting the target creature into yourself. When you absorb a poison or disease, you do not take any of the damage previously dealt to the target by the affliction.

Augment: For every additional power point you spend, you can heal an additional 2d10 points of damage (to a maximum of 10d10 points per manifestation).

In addition, any creature that fails its save for half damage must succeed on a Spells save or be stunned for 1 round.

Cold: A stroke of this energy type deals +1 point of damage per die. The saving throw to reduce damage from a cold stun is made against Death instead of Spells.
Electricity: Manifesting a stroke of this energy type inflicts a -2 saving throw penalty on targeted creatures and a 10% bonus on your checks for the purpose of overcoming power resistance.
Fire: A stroke of this energy type deals +1 point of damage per die.

Call Identification Scroll

You call a scroll of identification "from thin air" into your awaiting hand. (Actually, it is a real item hailing from some other random location in the world.) You don't have to see or know of the scroll to call it - in fact, you can't ever call a specific item. You just specify the type.


Serenity

The subject of this power receives a saving throw versus Spells with a -3 penalty to avoid the effects.


Brain Lock

Find the Heart

Find the heart gives its user an intuitive feel for striking a creature's anatomy. Using this insight allows the psion to make more precise, damaging strikes. This power grants the equivalent of backstab attack damage. The extra damage is treated like the thief's ability to backstab. The extra damage from Find the Heart applies only against creatures susceptible to a thief's backstab damage.

A dispelled power ends as if its duration had expired. Dispel Psionics cannot overcome some powers, as detailed in their descriptions. Dispel Psionics can end spell-like effects just as it does powers.

You can choose to use Dispel Psionics in one of two ways: a targeted dispel or an area dispel.

Targeted Dispel: One object or creature is the target of the Dispel Psionics power.
Area Dispel: When using Dispel Psionics in this way, the power affects everything within a 30' radius.

Eradicate Invisibility

Upon manifesting this power, you choose cold, electricity or fire. You weave a field of potential energy of the chosen type around your body. The first successful attack made against you in each round during the power's duration prompts a response from the field without any effort on your part. The attack may be physical, the effect of a power, or the effect of a spell (including spell-like, supernatural and extraordinary abilities). An "ectoburst" discharges from the field, targeting the source of the attack and dealing 4d6 points of damage of the chosen energy type.

Cold: A field of this energy type deals +1 point of damage per die. The saving throw to reduce damage is made against Death instead of Spells.
Electricity: Manifesting a field of this energy type inflicts a -2 saving throw penalty on targeted creatures and a 10% bonus on your checks for the purpose of overcoming power resistance.

If the power is successful, the creature is instantly whisked away, but there is a 20% chance of actually sending the subject to a plane other than its own.

When you manifest this power, a clone of you steps out of your body. It is in every way identical to you, except it has no substance. You can see and hear what the clone sees and hears. The clone will do anything you want it to do (as if it actually was you). Furthermore, your psyche goes with the clone, enabling it to perform all your psionic powers.

The power has a serious drawback. As long as the clone exists, the manifester is practically a turnip. He retains only smell, taste and touch. He cannot move, see or hear. Further all his psionic powers transfer to the clone. The clone cannot travel more that 30' from the immobile manifester or this power will end.

The clone is immune to all physical damage made with normal weapons. Damage from attacks made with magical weapons (enchantment of +1 or better) is reduced by half and transfers to the manifester. Any mental, magical or psionic damage transfers fully to the manifester. When the power expires, the clone simply vanishes.



Ectoplasmic Shambler

The vision of those within the shambler is limited to 5 feet, and manifesting powers (or casting spells) within the shambler is difficult due to the constant turbulence felt by those caught in the shambler's form.

Creatures enveloped by the shambler, regardless of armor class, take 1 point of damage for every two manifester levels you have in each round they become or remain within the roiling turbulence of the shambler. Anyone trying to manifest a power or cast a spell inside the shambler has a 30% chance to failure.

Otherwise, the subject's blood begins to heat up.

1st round: The creature's blood heats up, causing 2d4 points of damage. The creature must also make an additional saving throw against Death to avoid taking 1 point of temporary Strength damage.

2nd round: The creature's blood boils, causing 4d4 points of damage. The creature must also make an additional saving throw against Death to avoid taking 1 point of temporary Strength damage.

3rd and subsequent rounds: The creature's blood burns, causing 1d4 points of damage. The creature must also make an additional saving throw against Death to avoid taking 1 point of temporary Strength damage and fall unconscious for 1 round.

Either way, this power just brings the creature to anywhere within range of the power. It provides the psion no control over the creature and does not return the creature to its native plane. Needless to say, some creatures are "rather aggravated" by this intrusion into their private affairs and will seek retribution.

The psion decides upon the plane in which to obtain the summoned creature. Obviously, if he knows little of the planes this power will be of limited use.

Treat your duplicate as yourself with two negative levels for the purpose of determining the powers to which the duplicate has access (while the duration of this power lasts, nothing will remove those negative levels). When the duration expires, you and your duplicate rejoin, no matter how far from each other you are.

You can have only one fissioned duplicate in existence at one time; your duplicate cannot use this power.

You are immune to extra damage from critical hits, ability damage, disease and poison. You take only half damage from acid, electricity and fire of all kinds.

While affected by this power, you can be detected by powers that read thoughts, life or presences (including True Seeing), or if you make suspicious movements in lighted areas. You cannot harm anyone physically, but you can use your powers normally. Doing so may attract notice.

You gain a +6 enhancement bonus to your Strength score, but take a –6 penalty to Dexterity as well, and your speed is reduced to half normal. You can speak but cannot drink (and thus can't use potions).

A creature partially assimilated into your form (that is, a creature that has at least 1 hit point following your use of the power) grants you a number of temporary hit points equal to half the damage you dealt for 1 hour.

A creature completely assimilated grants you a number of temporary hit points equal to the damage you dealt and a +4 bonus to each of your ability scores for 1 hour. You gain some semblance of a creature you completely assimilate for 1 hour.

Metafaculty can defeat spells, powers and special abilities such as Screen or Mind Blank (or even a Wish spell) that normally obscure clairsentience powers.

High Level Abilities

 

 

Psionic Knowledge


The time and effort powerful psions put into the study of ancient mysteries, psionic traditions, psychic symbols and the very essence of psionics does not happen without rewards. Psion's studies open his mind to new ways of thinking and perceiving the multiverse. His extensive knowledge will give him the answer to even the most obscure problem; the broadening of the psion's mental faculties makes him capable of dealing with the phenomena of psionics in all its many manifestations.
This passive ability grants the psion a permanent 1 point bonus to Intelligence and 15 point bonus to Lore.

 

 

Hostile Mind


You have trained your mind to gain mastery over your body and the mind’s own deepest capabilities. You gain 50% resistane against all mind-affecting powers, spells and abilities.

 

 

Expanded Psionic Knowledge


You learn another power.


Add to your powers known one additional power of any level up to one level lower than the highest-level power you can manifest. You can choose any power, including powers from another discipline’s list or even from another class’s list. Expanded Psionic Knowledge can be chosen up to 3 times.

You increase your power point reserve.
