First, of course, thanx GhostDog, your mod is an awesome addition to the default UI when running Bigg Widescreen (which is itself a massive improvement over intolerable VGA resolution).

But my question/suggestion/request ...

Is it possible to multiply the sizes and reposition fixed UI elements like the character portraits?  As you know, these become quite tiny at higher vertical resolutions, and this is impacted by their awkwardly distant positions along the corners.  This makes the UI a bit uncomfortable when dragging the mouse so far.  I don't know the technical details or how much graphic data would be involved, but why not make these UI elements bigger to better mimic their original "sizes" in terms of how much relative display area they occupy?  To me, this one little oversight (well, plus the semi-occasional crash when entering small map areas) almost ruins the high-resolution play experience.

How difficult would it be to allow, say, character portrait resizing in a similar manner to the font resizing during (re)install?

I don't think it's possible to scale only certain UI elements. As for actually changing their size it would be pretty difficult and probably beyond me. It would be possible to scale the whole game into your desired resolution (though I wouldn't know how to do that either), but it's virtually the same as installing the game in a lower than your native resolution and let your monitor do the upscaling. So my advice would basically be to install the game at a lower res, one where you are comfortable with the size of everything.

Thanks for the quick reply, GD.

I guess it's a bit more involved than I thought it would be.  Or perhaps time for me to buy a more precise mouse.  :lol2:

Or try keyboard shortcuts. I rarely use the mouse to get to most of the menus in PST nowadays.
