So a while back I got a new comp and decided it was high time to play my fav game again. While I was able to install the game and it runs fine. I have not been able to get any mods to install...

I know the thing of don't install it in my Program Files. But where should I install it? And how do I get mods to work in Windows 8. I am also having trouble getting BG easyTutu to install as well.

Steel is my body, fire is my blood.
I've created over a thousand blades
Unknown to death.
Nor known to life.
Have withstood pain to create many weapons.
Yet, those hands will never hold anything.
So as i pray, "Unlimited Blade Works."--Archer from Fate/Stay Night

Make a folder called Games under your C: drive. That's what I do and I install all of my games in the Games folder. I don't have Windows 7 so I can't answer your other questions. What problems are you having?

Her skin was white as leprosy.
The Nightmare Life-in-Death was she,
Who thicks man's blood with cold.

Did you right-click and run as admin?
THINK! - It's not illegal.

Haven't seen anything else that's not covered in the Windows 7 solutions on Windows 8.

Yep, Jarno Mikkola. my Mega Mod FAQ. Use of the BWS, and how to use it(scroll down that post a bit).
OK, desert dweller, welcome to the sanity, you are free to search for the limit, it's out there, we drew it in the sand. Ouh, actually it was still snow then.. but anyways.

Hey there, folks!

I've read that topic already, the one about w7, but suddenly my PC decided to deny the access to whatever mod I try to install... Tried solving it, didn't work, uninstalled the whole thing and re-installed... and now nothing works as nothing is allowed. It shouldn't be an admin problem, as my account is the only admin one, and I also deactivated the "pop-up message-about-security-stuff" thingy. I don't know what has gone wrong, but I'm going mad without my mods. :(

And to think it all begun by a character going mute...

Well, the Windows 8.1 has the W7 protection for every folder except the users own folders, and to get around that you have to install the game to your own profile folders, even as an Admin. So install the game to this folder:

C:\Users\<user profile name>\BGII - SoA\ or C:\Users\<user profile name>\Games\BGII - SoA\ or the like, where the <user profile name> -folder is, correct, your own admin accounts user profile name.
Also anti virus programs such as the horrible Comodo Internet Security can set your folders into sandbox mode where no matter what's in them, it has no impact on how the game works as they are mirror folders for the real programs in them. And the only good way to re-enable editing of the files is to remove the whole program.

Just did so and it's still the same. When the mods are installing, they always have that annoying "Copying file... Access denied" message over and over again. I swear that this didn't happen before, 'tis most frustrating. Avast never complained about the game, either.
