So, the framerate in my BGT game has slowed down to the point of unplayability, and I'm pretty sure installing Infinity Animations is the culprit.

I originally totally misread the installation instructions and installed IA without any of the component .rars. I started a BG1 game and played until the Temple Ruins in BG2, where the absence of the shadow animations caused an immediate and consistent CtD. When I figured this out, I reinstalled IA with the necessary .rars and fixed the problem.

Now though, I notice that basically any large, populated area slows my game down to the point that I basically can't do anything comfortably. My computer is only a year old, so I know it's not that the hardware isn't up to snuff. It seems to have something to do with the prodigious size of the Infinity Animations/content folder in the BG2 directory.

Is there any way to rectify this situation? I'm using the Bear Walker kit, which I believe needs IA, so if I can't use that anymore I'll have to redo the BG2 leg of the game.

Thanks in advance, and I'd like to apologize for being one of those people who registers just to beg for help.

Did you install Generalized Biffing? If you install many mods your override folder will become cluttered with 1000s of files, which slows down the game.
In order to rectify that, generalized biffing is usually installed at the end of an installation.

No, I hadn't installed it.

...It totally worked. I'm really angry at myself now. Seems like not having this mod installed was the problem I've been having the whole time.

Thanks for your help.

Here's more info on getting the game to run without lag.
