Hi,

I am trying to install BGT and am getting an error:  The DOS screen detects the installation folder of the "original Saga" correctly (I have installed from retail CD). Then it asks me to confirm. I say Yes but then it says "Invalid Baldur's gate directory or incorrect Baldur's Gate installation." It then asks me to enter the full path. I enter the path but it gives the same error.

I have followed the instructions in the sticky in this forum in the FAQ.  I have copied & pasted many of the .bif files that seemed to be missing from the "Original Saga" directory.  Most (if not all) of the .bif files were on the Shadows of Amn CD's and the Throne CD.  Now, when trying to install BGT again, it gives the same error.

I have also installed

BG2 Fixpack (This is installed into the BGII - SoA folder)
bg2_fixpack-v10.exe
http://www.gibberlin...net/bg2fixpack/

I installed this before BGT per my friends instructions.  No other game mods are installed yet.

Please help if you can.

Thanks,

Dave

Provide the setup-bgt.debug 's content, by opening it with Notepad and copy pasting it to a post.

As you are not giving enough info... such as if the games are actually fully installed, and pacthed to the latest official patches, and yes, we know what the BG2 Fixpack does, as the pinned topic mention it, dah.

Besides those, you could also go and open the baldur.ini's in both game directories and copy paste their info too..

OK, desert dweller, welcome to the sanity, you are free to search for the limit, it's out there, we drew it in the sand. Ouh, actually it was still snow then.. but anyways.

I mentioned fixpack just so you know what I have installed.  Not because I didn't think you knew what it was.  Anyway, here's the log file you asked for.  Thanks for the help so far.

The BG2 install is not a full install...

Install Type=2

Meaning that you should have a full install of both games, when you are installing mods.

Yep, Jarno Mikkola. my Mega Mod FAQ. Use of the BWS, and how to use it(scroll down that post a bit).

Think I should just restart from a clean slate?  Uninstall it all and reinstall from scratch?

I thought I selected full install.  But must not have.  Will give it a try again.

Thanks for reviewing my data.  I will let you know how it goes.

Remember to remove the game folder after you have uninstalled the game, as uninstalling alone just doesn't remove the mods already installed mods and they'll give you no end to headaches.

Right.  I use Revo Uninstaller which is a pretty powerful uninstaller.  I never depend on the standard uninstaller.

Thanks for your help report back.
