And I see that the updated links are in

So another question - is there a way to use the BWS as a pure mod-downloader - not an installer? I need all the mods that the BWP can install for a BG2-ToB setup irrespective of conflicts (currently it downloads only one of the conflicting files. Eg: TDD & Ninde - which was recently made compatible btw :P)

from BWS FAQ

Manage conflicts and dependencies

There is a big section in the Game.ini called [Connections]. All dependencies and conflicts are listed there. The key of each entry is the description that will be shown at the bottom of the selection-screen. The value of the keys is quite flexible but has a simple system so most settings may be covered.
An ampersand means "and".
A vertical line "or".
The colon means "depends on" or divides groups in advanced conflicts.

After the setup-name, the component number is written down in curved braces. A dash stands for the hole mod. One or more components may be divided by a vertical line.

Lets see some comments from the section and examples:

NTotSC Patch=D:NTOTSC(-)&NTOTSCv171(-)

All mods/components depend another, so the mods will not be allowed to be installed alone. Only in a bunch of all mods.

BP And D0Questpack=D:BPV179(-)&D0questpack(-):MTS_CRAPPACK(29)

Multiple mods/components need another (to coexist).
The mods X1, X2, [...Xn] need Y if installed together. Y is not needed if any of X is missing.

NTotSC Patch Dependancy=D:NTOTSCv171(-):DSOTSC(-)&NTOTSC(-)

One mod/component need multiple others.
The mod X needs Y1, Y2, [...Yn] to be installed. This does not mean that Y1 needs Y2.

TS Animation Fix=D:NeJ2v602(2):TS-BP(-)

One (or more) components need one of multiple possible components. So if any of the components on the right are installed, the dependency is solved.

Improved encounters need smarter AI=D:scs(6090|6100):scs(5040|5041|5042|5043)

One mod needs another - not vise versa.

Alter Cleric Spell Progression Table=C:TDD(-)|Divine_Remix(100):BG2_Tweaks(2280|2281)

Advanced conflict - check Splits String by ':' (lets call it area). If one of the items is selected (or all of a group if '&' is used), it's displayed as a conflict. Advantage to normal conflicts: *Mods in an area are not treated as conflicts. *Mods can have conflicts in groups. So if two combined mods have a conflict with a third one, this is the ways to go.

The mods X1, X2, [...Xn] all have a conflict with Y. X1 and X2 do not have a conflict, so they can be installed without problems.

Fix the Mirror Image spell=C:Spell_Rev(20)>ToB_Hacks(31)>SCSII(1020)>SCS(40)

One or more mod/component has conflicts with another

I think if you throw all dependencies it will download all mods

Well, you could remove all the conflicts from one of the files..
I think it's the BiG World Setup\Config\BWP/game.ini -files [Connections] portion.

I got badly ninjaed.

That works thanks :coolthumb:

Although wierd quirk, it seems to need atleast one entry under [Connections] to generate the Dependancies :P Doesn't matter anyway

Soo, since the BWS was updated (Thanks for that!), is it time to start a new install? Does the setup have everything I need?

More experiments - the BWS seems to keep the following mods out of the downloads folder even though the archives I have for them match the properties in the global INIs (they are somehow not being added into the Mod.ini when I choose BWP install.bat with all languages and a BWP Expert install)

1) MTSCrappack_v4.zip

2) NeJ2Biffer_v3.rar

3) TheOneDrizzt_1.41.rar

How do I make the BWS download (and check) these as well?

Check if they are in the select.txt and some components are selectable. Some annotation won't do.

Well that solves it :)

Apparently MTSCrappack is not needed anymore and OneDrizzt is not compatible with DrizztSaga v3 - no clue why NeJ2Biffer is not used now but it's not in the installpack either so not complaining :P

Trying to wrap my head around the NeJ options and I'm just about to go flipping some tables

1) NeJv42 + NeJv602 + BGTNeJ + BGTNeJ2 (most stable but least content)

2) NeJ2v68 (IDK???)

3) NeJ2v691 + NeJ2v694 (newest, most content and least tested)

These are the 3 flavors of NeJ that can be installed - all 3 variants have overwriting folders so I can't just extract all sets and keep them apart in the same folder.

My question - why 3 variants? :o Is there a reason we're allowing NeJv68 to be used? I agree it might have more content than v602 but v694 wou;d surpass it right?

Also, whose bright idea was making NeJ standard mods? Even the BWP PDF has the entire NeJv694 block in extra gray to warn users

EDIT: PM Sent - grabbing the latest and greatest :P

Ask Leonardo, he got those three versions in his guide. It just was some topic of head scratching back then.
First is outdated, second seems to be ok for BGT installs and 6.91 is greyed out, but I don't remember what that should reflect. Guess it's not as "solid" as the other version.
Being translated also was an issue back then.
THINK! - It's not illegal.

Yes.
It's a late beta. At least I hope so as I haven't heard from it in a bit, but I haven't done about it either, so I am out of the loop a lots.
There's some discussions somewhere about the why, but it mostly revolves around the feedback and the lack there of especially with BWS games as mods usually get that as there's nothing to tie the plot points to a specific mod, they also get a lot of bug reports that can be very hard to deal with on the amount of work, and the lack of defined way to get around. As we can fix all the problems between two mods, but when the BGT changes, those need to be reflected in NEJ(BGT-NeJ which was a try to go around this and it failed badly with BGT-weidu (v1.05b), and so and so forth. It's all ancient history by now.

Vlad also said that if you are willing to provide feedback about the mod, he will be glad to provide anyone a copy of it.

Check those puppies carefully, Lollorian, before going on - I remember there being some serious overwriting of resources. Pretty much TCs. The newest versions may have solved some of that. I suggest dropping the NeJ biffing mod completely - that was designed for a time when Generalized Biffing did not exist, and you don't want a mod trying to compress into .bif in the middle of a mega install...

Ok I got NeJv701, TSv705 and BDashv170

I have been thinking about the situation here - maintaining compatibility for the old versions of NeJ seems redundant with the new version out. Like cmorgan suggested, I too feel that we should drop all NeJ variants and redirect players to Vlad's PM thread so they can get NeJv7 if they want.

Thoughts?

I won't use those new versions of NeJv701, TSv705 and BDashv170 until they are publically available. Probably i would get those versions from Vlad if i ask them but i can't fulfill his requirements like feedback (more Vlad's info here) so i respect his wishes and won't be asking those mods.

So i'm going to continue to use NeJ v6.94 and TS v7.04?, there aren't any major issues with those mods.

But everybody else are free to do what they want.
