Ah sorry I mean the starting dungeon where you meet Drizzit. It was working up till I talked to him and tried to select an option.

I just tried this first dungeon with EET RC9 and i don't have problem with Drizzt

Did you install the mod in English, or one of the other langage ?

In english. I am doing a complete reinstall right now with out some mods. So i am going to wait a bit before I try again. I am cutting out a bunch of stuff like smarter priests and divine powers and faith and powers mod to try and pin down the priest bugs. Ill get back to you on it.

The problem with the crash in Drizzt dialogue has been found thanks to Ikki.

Here is a quick fix for it

Attached File  RoT_Repair.rar   857.54K   118 downloads (Extract into BG2EE game folder and run setup)

Only needed if you encounter the issue in a running game, for new installs the Sandrah mod has been repaired. There was a typo (one single letter missing). My apologies for that, it slipped unnoticed for years...

Using the latest BiG World Setup to do a slightly customized Recommended install in Windows 10, and running into more initial problems than anticipated, namely that there's a fair amount of mismatched versions. Editing as I find the correct versions manually online.

As a bump, getting this problem due to the aforementioned issues. I assume I shouldn't go ahead and put this older patch on the newer version.

EDIT: Took a while, but I finally found Ajantis-BG2-13.zip over at https://kerzenburg.b...loads.php?id=62 . Will update the list above this post for others having this issue.

WARNING: File "ajantisbg2/setup-ajantisbg2.tp2" contains 'VERSION ~14~' instead of expected 'VERSION ~13~'!  This is the file targeted for patching in "SETUP-AJANTISBG2.TP2.PATCH" in "Big World Fixpack/ajantisbg2".  This might mean that the patches for this mod were made for a different version of the mod than the one that you are using, or this might mean that the mod was already patched and then removed from the list in the "BWP_Fixpack.installed" file without restoring the original pre-patched files.

Do you want to try to apply the patch anyway?  If the target file is different from the original file that was used to create the patch, then the patch might fail completely (making no changes) or it might fail partially (making some changes) or it might succeed with 'fuzz' (if all of the lines to change are still in the file, but some other lines were added in between).  If partial patching occurs, the mod might fail to install or manifest other problems later.  If in doubt, please visit one of the modding forums and ask for help.

Perhaps. I went ahead and removed him just to minimize potential issues, along with Ascension, Eilistraee, and Throwing Hammers.

You'll find in the EET forum plus a post here that this mod still needs a patch so it's safe to do without errors. http://www.shsforums...hread/?p=594842

Ah, thanks. Not doing an Enhanced Edition install, though, but I'll take a look at it.

Also, incredibly frustrated right now, as I always wind up when installing BWP. I absolutely loathe when available versions of mods don't match what BWS is looking for. There's already so much complexity I despise adding more potential issues by using mod versions BWS hasn't been updated to.

EDIT: Woo! Managed to actually get a custom, Recommended BGT installation completed in under a day! Fastest time yet! Only had to stop and restart the process from scratch 17 times before it went off without errors, this time. Huzzah!

As I noted just a few posts up, Eilistraee's Song is updated past what the BiG World Setup is looking for. Recommendation from me? Remove it from your list for now until the BWS gets updated to use the newer version.

@Jenavee
BGT Mega Installation is in very poor state due to too many outdated mods and lack of interest from the players side.
Honestly, there's no lack of interest in BWS. But we certainly lack the competence. I have attempted to pick up the banner of BWS back in 2013 few months before Quiet did so, and man was it so insanely difficult for my non-programmer mind, and that is even with Dabus' help!

I'm on the BitBucket + Github as Darth-Cthoras. I noticed your proposal, and agree, but killing off BWS -prior- to having a working replacement is just gonna kill my interest.

EDIT: And we should be -extremely- careful if we're plotting to revamp Weidu itself. ALL the mods depend on it for installation.

"weidu next generation - next version should abandon auto-overwrite design" because it's terrible from the "framework" perspective.

it's the case with zeitgeist : it doesn't owerwrite the different setup-mymod.exe.

it doesn't even require the setup-mymod.exe to exist and use only one weidu exe in the zeitgeist directory.

But even the BlackWyrmLair mod ( IA, NEJ ... ) install fine that way

So then what's your proposal in terms of BWS 2.0? You have some idea on how to maintain the existing compatibility checks and whatnot we've only spent...what... twelve years or so uncovering? I'd rather not have to spend ANOTHER decade bug-hunting.

Some way to convert the existing system to a newer framework without having to redo all the time and effort spent so far would be ideal.

Status of the BWS at end of July 2017

- Attempt to clarify -

The BWS tool has two major components:

1) the tool itself, i.e. the software and GUI that do the job of constructing a modded game.

2) a database of configuration files for mods, download links, install sequences, conflicts and dependencies for various supported games.

Apart from this, BWS depends on two outside resources, over which BWS has no direct control::

3) Weidu

4) Fixpack

concerning 1)

In April, the last rremaining maintainer for BWS has made this announcement (http://www.shsforums...206#entry594820). The reasons for it are partly technical due tor BWS software itself and partly due to having no control over e.g. Weidu or other prerequisites (Alien has given his reasons in various posts, they are understandable and I will not repeat them here).

This means that the tool itself and its functionality will not further develop. Take it as a functional *freeze*. That does not mean BWS is dead, it only means whatever we do with it in the future has to be within the limits of what the tool currently can do.

Unless somebody with the required skills steps up OR a new tool is developped.

concerning 2)

Maintaining the living database for the various games within the limits outlined above is still possible and (partly) performed. This however requires teamwork and contribution. BWS is hosted on bitbucket (very similar to github) and is open to the public. Anyone can contribute, request updates, provide mods etc. You clone BWS to your PC, make changes, make a pull request - it will be accessed and checked and if everything is technically okay, it will be merged into the BWS and update it. All you need to know is published in the BWS readme that is in every download of BWS.

Currently only two *subsets* of that database are actively maintained

- EET (BG2EE may at times participate from updates that fall out of EET maintenance)

- PSTEE

This is done by volunteers from the modding community who have struggled to acquaint themselves with the topic and provide what they can within their limited skills.

Again, anybody with an interest to contribute or even *adopt* one of the other games (BGT, BG2, IWD...) is free to do so. In case, nobody does it, the status quo is preserved.

concerning 3)

You find any information you may seek on their forum.

concerning 4)

Fixpack is maintained independently which may lead to situations where it can be out of sync with BWS temporarily.

Currently some EET mods still require a fixpack patch to make them compatible. If modders update such a mod, they are supposed to include the EET patch - if they do not...there is nothing either EET or BWS can do, other than remove them from the selection, unless the modder has done some coordination with BWS.

I hope this summary makes the current status of BWS a bit more transparent.

This situation is considered to be temporary, i.e. when the activities summarised under 2) either stop or are expanded, the situation will improve or degrade.

Is it normal that the "Restored Bhaalspawn Powers by David Gaider" component of Ascension and the "Regain Bhaalpowers in ToB" component of aTweaks can be installed together, instead of being listed as alternatives?

New Ascension has separate and better Restored Bhaalspawn Powers component than Unfinished Business=C:Ascension(103):UB(19)  >>>Conflict
Ascension(103) Restored Bhaalspawn Powers does not conflict with aTweaks(202|241|218)

Unless, of course, you have to make a report about problems you have encountered in your game?
