Caserius Tendook: Since I'm currently making a manual install on BGT I can give some insights as well. It's really not that difficult as you would imagine and you do learn a lot on the way about the mods and all that. I actually think it's better to install by hand because then you know exactly what is happening and you can make sure everything works. And yes BGT is very stable. That's a good thing of it being old - most issues are ironed out by now. Enhanced Editions are more modern but they are still evolving. And BGT gives that classic feel as well :-). And a plus is that it can be made portable too (with Aliens Infinity Engine Launcher). And it has TobEx.

Thanks.  I will post whatever progress I make when I attempt it over in the other forum BGT Sub-Forum (assuming there is one!) and your insights would be certainly welcome.

It is the npc_ee mod.  Khalid turns up as a Ranger/Cleric and Jaheria as a Multi class Ftr/Druid.  Options that are chosen when the mod is installed.

Ah ha! That changes things. You are seeing changes to BG1 content, but NPC_EE is actually installed to EET, i.e. to BG2. And it is one of the last mods installed, if not the last, specifically so that you can uninstall/reinstall it as you please.

So! If you can find the "setup-NPC_EE.exe" file in your game directory, you can run it manually and simply uninstall the Khalid class change component.

Be aware, Jaheira is a multi fighter/druid in the vanilla game... that's not a mod thing. But if you want, when you run NPC_EE it will give you the option to change her to a single-class druid. ;)

OK, I tried this again, going back and loading from the Ambush Site at the Crossroads, so it was long before I ever got near the FAI and got near Jahiera and Khalid.  When I recruit them, Khalid still comes up as a ranger/cleric.  When I bring him in thru the console (to test as Roxanne suggested) he shows up as a single class Ranger, which is what I chose when I re-ran the mod, but he is still showing up differently.  I'm trying to see if I can sort this out and if I run the npc-ee after I have started an EET game if I can get this to work since there are other NPC's that I would like to adjust and I would rather not do it through EE Keeper, plus I'm trying to use this to learn the ropes.

Any other suggestions would be welcome, at present I plan to just start from Scratch in Candlekeep with a new EET game and see if that solves the problem since recruiting J and K at the FAI happens pretty early I'm not loosing anything and my CHARNAME is still pretty fresh.  If I have to use EE Keeper I will, I would just prefer to use the mod, and not loose any further interactions with future NPC's that I wanted to switch around or experiment with.  I'm trying to understand the posibilities of being able to adjust mods after they have been installed thru the BWS for EET, and how best to make those things work.

I will experiment more with this tomorrow when I get in from work as I'm headed out to a long shift now.  Thanks.

On Edit, Sorry for the double post and I included the Weidu logs just in case.  Thanks.

Is it safe to try/test a new BWS/EET install yet? The last one I tried was hosed with Imoen's dialogue. I want to try again, but leaving out a mod or two until I can find the one borking my install with some sort of conflict.

Hi. I've been having an ongoing problem with a BWS/BGII:EE install.

I am getting a problem with the Download folder selection i.e. the button remains grey, even though the pathway shown is the correct one. If I simply ignore the lack of a green button I can continue through the process. I back up the game, succesfully select mods, test availability of downloads and present mods, and list the required urls create back ups with no problems.
However as soon as I try to actually run BWS and install the mods I get a screen telling me the installation has stopped, and instructing me to "start the game, choose a language I like, start and create a save game"I have already started the game, and created a save game. I have also selected a language for the BGII EE game and for the BWS.

If I follow the instructions and run the game again, create yet another save game, then press continue the BWS crashes to desktop

If I simply press continue BWS crashes to desktop.

WHAT I HAVE TRIED SO FAR
* The game directory is definitely on my E drive, and the BWS is on the D drive (not in the game directory)
* All attempts to run BWS have been made with my antivirus, malware protection and PIA manager all turned off. I am not uploading or downloading anything else.
* I have tried new, clean downloads of both the BGII:EE game and BWS.
* Between each attempt I have completely uninstalled BGII:EE, reinstalled a clean, new version, run the game and created a new save.
* I have also deleted the extracted BWS folders, and created a new, clean version of the extraction prior to each retry
* I have checked for registry problems, and fixed any before each new try. I have also turned the PC off and on between attempts
* In desperation I have tried to find a back-up of one of my old pre V2.0 GOG Download, but they are all long gone.

As you can probably tell I really, really want to play with my mods and have made every effort to follow your instructions. I'm getting a wee bit desperate here.

This is a copy of a ppost I made over on the Beamdog BWS Setup page  made here as I wasn't getting a response there

100% sure it's the latest BG2 version? That's the only time I've come across that error.

This just tells us that ... whatever the computer setttings you have, have prevented you from having a "fully legit game". This might be due to antivirus that sets your entire hard drive to a lockup so that the game can only save to a temporary memory, or more accurately to a sandbox. The Windows 10 natively does this to the C drives all folder, except the C:\Users\<username> -subfolders. Now then there's at least a few others that do this, for example the Komodo antivirus, even when you set it off ! You have to uninstall it to remove the function.

OK, desert dweller, welcome to the sanity, you are free to search for the limit, it's out there, we drew it in the sand. Ouh, actually it was still snow then.. but anyways.

I've got  2.1.0.3 - I don't know if thats been updated.

As I type this I am DLing a version from Steam, as I had bought one a couple of years back. I got a dirt cheap version from Good Old Games when I got IWD:EE from them last year, and I've been using that as I was having hassles with my online connection. I have a problem that mucks about my memory and I had completely forgotten I had the Steam game till this morning :crying:

If GOG it should be about 2.3.67.3 to be most updated version.

formally bws cannot found string SetPrivateProfileString('Language','Text','en_US') in file C:\Users\XXX\Documents\Baldur's Gate II - Enhanced Edition\Baldur.lua:

- you dont have this file

- you dont have access to this file for bws

- you dont have this string in file

I have just started a game in Steam BGII:EE - and it works YAY!!!  I have no idea what version this is - except I didn't use the beta 2.5 patch.

I suppose in theory I should try installing the GoG game with the latest patch ... but to be honest after four days of trying to play a game I just want to keep pl;aying now I've got one working :)

@Hack'N'Slash and @Insomniator Many thanks for the prompt replies - much appreciated.

I have not yet dared to install it and there is a thread here http://www.shsforums...-was-not-found/ that says it's not needed anymore but in all honesty I don't see this included in the changelog of Gavin BG2.

Hi all!
Pls don't make me read all 270 pages, and pls don't say "bah, why didn't you read page 140?"

Is there any contributors to git repository?
Can I become one?
Not that I'm going to fix some reported issues, but I can apply some minor changes I found myself, or at least create some pull requests:
1. update download link/version/size of mods
2. update some mod info:
2.1 wildmage additions first component is not required for the rest, you can choose pansy/ironman. mark pansy red as it's not working now (I've created pull request for the author)
2.2 EEUITweaks rename some component names as they are updated by authors
3. update some dependencies and conflicts:
3.1 EEUITweaks.show all options is incompatible with another mod. EEUITweaks version didn't work for me so I would mark another mod as preferred.
3.2 BG1 NPC project. make components in different sections dependant. So if you deselect main component, report it missing. Now I got error during installation
4. Why spell refreshments are excluded from UI? I found this mod in config, but don't see it in UI mod selection screen. Yes I can install it manually, but why was it excluded? You could include it with grey status: install at your own risk.
5. It seems that component "allow npc goto inn" or smth (don't remember exact name) messes with bg1npc dialogues. As a result some quests are not completed. I would mark this component as grey.
6. I've encountered several errors and warnings: white queen and others. Should mark such components red. Ofc someone else could research this issue and report incompatibilities. I can try to do it myself.

Last updated 2018-04-19 here, so yes. And yes, you can try... make a repository request and the others will approve it in time: ...

How do I contribute?
learn git basics (https://git-scm.com/videos https://git-scm.com/book/en/v2)
fork BWS repository using "SourceTree" or "SmartGit" or other preferred tool
add mods/make other changes (see FAQ in the Docs folder of the BWS package!)
create a pull request to submit changes from your fork back to the main project

Go here https://bitbucket.or...p/bigworldsetup

Check the *How can I contribute* topic.

Do not be scared, bitbucket works just the same as github and if you use something like smartgit you will not notice any difference. Just you need an extra account (free) to get access.

I don't know is this helpful or not but I think your best bet is to ask current mod maintainer, here: http://gibberlings3....p?showforum=128.

By the way I would very much like to see your manual installation of BGT once it is over, can you post your Weidu log when you are finished?

P.S. Just found that newest available guide for BWP v.17 still use it...

No, it's not necessary any more. For Keldorn Romance, either. That's also the reason why it's no longer available from the download section and the thread about the hotfix was no longer pinned.

There is a mix-up here.

Those guys are referring to the BWP Fixpack v17 by Leonardo which contains those hotfixes.

They just post this stuff in the BWS thread while BWS + Fixpack are up-to-date.

Thank you Greenhorn. Yes I saw BWP also includes it also. But BWS has no download link for it and it's not in the Fixpack (github version) either. It seems to not be used and also if I wanted to install it I can't anyway because I cant find the file anywhere.

I think the reason for the error that user had in the link I posted is because the BWS wasn't fetching the file even back 2011. So after all this time it can't be a problem anymore. So I decided to skip it.

Yes I can post it when it's finished. I'll let you know. I'm going small steps every day so it doesn't get boring and because of that it has taken like all week already. But I'm soon done.

Thanks jastey for confirming. Yes I saw that changelog entry but I thought the BGT hotfix was so that Gavin would disappear at the end of BG1, not because of some crash? There is no misunderstanding there?

And Roxanne, relax because there is no mixup. Updated BWS still lists the hotfix as well.
