Total failure, I installed BWS compilation for BGEE (custom mods selection, see Weidu.log at the end of the post), on a STEAM game and biffing everything at the end.

When I try to start the game I get a lot of error messages and at the end the application crashes back to Desktop.

Some examples of the error messages I get:

- [Syntax Error] Invalid syntax starting '!SUNSOUL string, TIGER string, W_PSIONIK string,....

- .\sql_compiler.c[815]: [Not Exists] Table 'WEAPPROF' does not exist

- .\sql_compiler.c[815]: [Not Exists] Table '25STWEAP' does not exist

- .\sql_compiler.c[515]: [Overflow] Can't add column 'W_PSIONIK60'. Too many columns on table 'THIEFSCL'

- .\sql_compiler.c[743]: [Not Exists] There is no table 'E' in the db

- .\sql_compiler.c[743]: [Not Exists] There is no table 'A' in the db

Last error before crashing:

- .\sql_compiler.c[566]: [Overflow] Can't add table: Number of Tables[256] greater or equal to the maximum number [256].

Please not that I did not have relevant errors during installation.

Any help is appreciated.

Thank you.

@alien/quiet:
Just another hint about the BWS:
As you can see in the log above, the BWS-entry has the description / version tag "20140108 - Updated by dabus".
I've added that version-tag for debugging purposes back then. But since there are not many code changes, the displayed version is not the current version that you might expect.
If you'd like to have the correct one, I'd suggest to make a little change to includes\09_install.au3, line 133:
$Array=StringSplit(StringStripCR(FileRead($g_ProgDir&'\Docs\Changelog-mods.txt')), @LF); read the version-number from the changelog
As you can see, it would read the info from the other file and thus you might get the info. Just if you need it for better debugging/helping when people post their weidu.logs.

Thanks for the effort until now. :)

The text is too long, the forum does not let me post it. Can't I attach the file?

I have read on the BGEE forum that kits are not compatible with version 1.2 (see post below), is that still true? Maybe that is the cause of the crash.

Well, the normal kits are not compatible, except the BGEE compatible ones... they shouldn't cause the error, but one never knows.

What worries me about the above uploaded file is that this:

Setup-bgeegraphics.exe --no-exit-pause --noautoupdate --language 0 --skip-at-view --quick-log --force-install-list 0 --logapp

Failed to install multiple times, I suspect the fact is that there was no provided options given to the "four optional question" in the times. It was last fixed by non direct BWS install... by the looks of it in the log file.

Yes, it failed to install with BWS, probably because I didn't turn down the UAC in Windows 7.

Anyways, I discovered that kits were causing the errors! It seems that, up to now, there are no kits compatible with last version of BGEE.

After I unistalled some of them, the game started with some errors, but the remaining installed kits were not selectable.

So, to make it short, DO NOT install kits with latest BGEE version.

The unselect-ability can be fixed if you were to fix the kit installation .tp2 file to contain the "LAF fl#add_kit_ee" -function and it's variables so they add the kit correctly to the game, of course that is a huge task, as I haven't done even one and I have a personal 30 custom kit compilation mod to update.

I asked some time ago if InfinityAnimation only needs ACP 1252 during installation. That was correct, right?
BWS still has the wrong info (that it needs to be active when playing the game), so I could send you a fixed (English/German) text-file and a small addition that would ask you if you want to reset the ACP-key after the install is finished. Also the _Test_ACP-part has a little glitch. Had a little test-run and it worked as expected.
Guess that would make sense.

Correct.

It also needs it during the extraction !!!!

At least on WinRAR that most people use to extract .rar files, as the filenames get cheesed if it's done in the wrong setting.

I'm still stuck on "installing generalized biffing" step, so I'll just ask in advance: latest BWS for some reason stated in the middle of installation process that "SoBH was not installed" before going on. Any hints on where should I look for the possible causes of such behaviour? I've fixed all dependancies and incompatibilities, SoBH wasn't among mods that weren't downloaded and there was no warnings during extraction process, so I'm at a loss here.

I know that much. The ACP-stuff has been in there since 2010... ;)
Tests are run when the user has chosen the game and either the continue-button or the button to open the selection-window is clicked and the selection tree is populated.
I ask just because I was reminded somehow.

You could either check the BWS install-logs (and extraction/download if nothing is found there) or just open the Setup-BoneHillv275.debug. At least if the message was from the setup itself and not from another one.

I just wanted to remind you, as were there the case that it was not needed in the extraction, the BWS could use the mods own internal option to temporarily switch the coding ... but as that's not the case. And the Creepin's quick answer lacked the actual fact, as it wasn't directly asked. Got ninjaed by dabus late edit in the previous page, aghm.

Thanks dabus!

I have located in install debug file the line that caught my eye during installation, it's from BP Balancer:

Item and XP Balancing for 'Secret of Bone Hill (v2.75)' -> Also randomly remove SOME overpowered custom items (will not affect quest relevanted items) (BP-Balancer (Beta)) was installed successfully.
Secret of Bone Hill is not installed

 I have no idea how to understand interpret these seemingly contradicting lines, but SoBH itself is installed ok and I could live with few overpowered items :)

Other than this tiny issue the installation was flawless, many thanks to everyone concerned!

I've uploaded a file here.

Changes in Testing are:
If $g_MLang[1] = 'RU' And $Test = '1251' Then Return; IA is converted for Russian translation, so Cyrillic codepage also fits
$Answer=_Misc_MsgGUI(1, _GetTR($g_UI_Message, '0-T1'), StringFormat(_GetTR($g_UI_Message, '2-L6'), $Test), 3, _GetTR($g_UI_Message, '0-B1'), _GetTR($g_UI_Message, '0-B2'), _GetTR($g_UI_Message, '0-B3')); => Hint / This may affect your programs
...
ElseIf $Answer = 3 Then; install the mod
IniWrite($g_UsrIni, 'Options', 'ACP', $Test)
If $g_CentralArray[0][0] <> '' Then _Tree_GetCurrentSelection()
$Test=RegWrite('HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Nls\CodePage', 'ACP', 'REG_SZ', '1252')
If @error Then
a) Display current codepage
b) write it to your config-file
c) intercept possible errors from regwrite

So the text for codepage-changes is changed a bit (%s will be replaced by the codepage that is used):
The change requires a restart of your computer and has to be kept during the installation. After the installation is finished you can switch back to codepage %s - please write this number down just to be save.||Do you still want to have this mod and proceed the change?
After the install is done and before it tells you how to start the game, it will do this:
$ACP=IniRead($g_UsrIni, 'Options', 'ACP', '')
If $ACP <> '' Then
	_Process_SetScrollLog('||'&StringFormat(_GetTR($Message, 'L20'), $ACP), -1); => ACP was set. Reset?
	Local $TMessage = IniReadSection($g_TRAIni, 'BA-MultiInstall')
	_Process_Question('y|n', _GetTR($TMessage, 'L5'), _GetTR($TMessage, 'Q1')); => enter yes/no
	If $g_pQuestion = 'y' Then
		$Test=RegWrite('HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Nls\CodePage', 'ACP', 'REG_SZ', $ACP)
		If @error Then
			_Process_SetScrollLog(StringReplace(_GetTR($g_UI_Message, '2-L7'), '1252', $ACP)); => Warning
		Else
			_Process_SetScrollLog(StringRegExpReplace(_GetTR($g_UI_Message, '2-L8'), '\x7c{2}[^\x7c]*\z', '')); => Hint / Applied & need to reboot.
		EndIf
	EndIf
	IniDelete($g_UsrIni, 'Options', 'ACP')
EndIf
So it will ask you this question L20, if the entry is found in your config-file (with your saved codepage-number):
You changed your codepage to install some mods. If you do not intend to change your installation, you can use your old codepage No. %s.||Do you want to set your codepage now?
Then it tries to write the registry entry, gives you instructions if it failed or tell you that it was ok. Then it will delete the entry. RegExp voodoo is used to remove the "||Would you like to do that now?" from the displayed string since the BWS still has things to do.

I'm writing a lot of code here since I got three or four files and I thought I'd better describe what's done so it does not get messed up. Maybe use a differ to be sure I really did not.
Have tested if the parts would work, but not during an actual install. Maybe someone would like to test that.

Hi again, I have found one problem, during bandit camp quest. When I try to enter the main building, game saves, and while it loads, CTD without any error message. What files/logs you need to see to figure out what's wrong? Thanks for help :)

Well, the same problem is reported earlier, it wasn't pinned down to a single thing, but a bypass was deviced... it would be best if you would continue this there.

To gather clues, look here... or in short;

For more debugging information:
1. Open TobEx_ini/TobExCore.ini in a simple text editor. AKA Notepad. :devil:
2. Under the [Debug] section, set all values of 0 to 1.
3. Try to reproduce your error in-game. TobEx may sometimes reports some extra information about the error.
4. Report any errors you find on the Spellhold Studios forums. Expect to be asked to attach a .zip of your saved game folder, WeiDU.log, TobEx.log, TobExCore.ini, and TobExTweak.ini. The last two won't be needed...

All the mentioned files are openable with Notepad, so if they are less than 100 lines long, you should be able to copy paste them to a post...

Also if you could, do as I instruct here: :devil:

Go to the game folder, make a new .txt file, and edit it, and copy paste this code into it:

mkdir change-log
WeiDU.exe --log nul --change-log AR8701.TIS >change-log/change-log1.txt --out change-log
WeiDU.exe --log nul --change-log AR8701.WEB >change-log/change-log2.txt --out change-log
WeiDU.exe --log nul --change-log AR8701.ARE >change-log/change-log3.txt --out change-log

And then use the "save as" -command the Notepad has and remove the .txt extension and instead name it as "change-log.bat", and then just exit the Notepad and run the .bat as if it was an .exe... it will run the weidu.exe just like you would install a mod, but it prints files into the new "change-log" folder, then just package the folder with any archive tools(so it becomes a .zip, .rar, or .7z ) and upload it to the thread linked above. If you can't, you might need to upload it to a mediafire account or somewhere else.

Okay, tried to reproduce error. Did as you instructed, with the notepad and got the zip below.

I could also provide screen from toBEx window if needed, or any else files needed?

PS: The error occurs without any error message, just a popup win 7 window appears saying application stops running.......
