It didn't work so here is the content of the BWS-Debug-Download.log.  It was inthe BWS\Apps\Logs folder

Deleted - my apologies.  Will try again via attachments.

@Skardreg Please cleanup this mess ...

Aka, edit the post above, so it's not a wall of text... that might not even contain what you want to, and go into the "Use Full Editor" mode, which allows you to attach files... etc.

Yep, Jarno Mikkola. my Mega Mod FAQ. Use of the BWS, and how to use it(scroll down that post a bit).

(I made a new thread for this, but wanted to post here as well since people actually follow this topic and will likely never see mine. That and I really want to start a new playthrough. :P)

I recently prepped a new BG1EE install, default recommended mods, and got a couple errors...

BG1UB download points to a location that no longer exists on the git. I downloaded the latest archive from the Releases section as opposed to the now-deleted release directory of the master branch, and selected it for BWS to install, though the file size did not match what was expected.

Also, aTweaks and Rogue Rebalancing were expecting older versions. I allowed them to be patched all the same by the fixpack.

Should I be concerned about any of these errors? The patching worries me most, though Mod.ini points specifically to atweaks-v453 (though BWS patching says it was expecting v452) and to rr-v492 (expecting v491). I'm hoping the patching mechanism has some kind of line recognition so even if lines were added prior to the intended line, the correct string still gets patched.

What should I do? Force installation of the old versions, or go with the new and trust them to be patched correctly by the fixpack?

Edit: Couldn't fight the urge... I restored a backup and had BWS download and extract everything, and before beginning the actual installation process, I replaced the extracted v453 and v492 data with v452 and v491 data. Everything was installed and patched perfectly thereafter.

Jastey, are you the new mantainer of BWS?

Low hung brow, dazed look on your face..... It appears that you are correct, my friend. You are indeed a complete imbecile.

Well, there is not really a setup version of the BWP. See as the BiG World Setup and BiG World (Project) Installpack are unfortunately different projects managed by different people. The original non-EE BG2 BWS is old, the origin of this topic and no longer really supported.

Could you relink them from G3's downloads ? I ask cause the BWS at least can download from multiple sites, 5 to be specific, but as it can only download 1 file from each... and the Github being today the most occupied mod site.

In all honesty serial, enqueued downloads from Github is still probably faster than parallel Github/G3 downloads regardless. Github has some major horsepower behind it, unlike the modding sites.

I downloaded the file in the link.

I ran it and picked BWS "Maximized Selection" and also i picked the teleport spell mod.

First it couldnt download about 6 mods. And I retried and it fell down to 4. Then I downloaded the missing ones from the links and put them to the App-Downloads folder. It accepted the files.

Then it found about 4 downloads with errors. I re downloaded them and it said ok and went on with installation. I dont know why but it took a lot of time for it to install the Sword Coast Strategems mod. During the install it gave a lot of errors about versions. I always picked continue.

You can see them here: (Edit. I have added ingame errors screenies in a subfolder)

https://drive.google...k3h?usp=sharing

After the install I ran the game in multiplayer mode.

  • The newly added npc's names and dialogues are messy. They are not readable.
  • Sometimes when I go into a door it doesnt let me in. I go back to main menu and reload the game and it allows it. Edit: It doesnt seem to be working now. It worked in irenicus' dungeon.
  • The names and tooltips of some items are has some code like text.
  • The only area I have been able to enter here is adventurers mart which I couldnt exit. I only have been able to get out by using a teleport scroll I added  via EE-keeper.
  • Also I cannot seems to be able to leave the general area of promenade.

Any pointers is would be most welcome.

Use "Recommended" with edits for you first try.

Hi. Thx. What does with edits means?

It means that you should set compilation to "Recommended" and then click "Choose Mods..." to select only things which you want.

Thx. I will try it that way.

I picked recommended. And also:

Teleport Spell
Golem Construction for Spell casters
Multiclass Multikits

Do you think they will cause problems?

Hi. I am trying to install the mentioned setup. I picked recommended. And also: Teleport Spell Golem Construction for Spell casters Multiclass Multikits But  I got this error as soon as i started the install:

WARNING: File "atweaks/setup-atweaks.tp2" contains 'VERSION ~v4.53~' instead of expected 'VERSION ~v4.52~'!  This is the file targeted for patching in "SETUP-ATWEAKS.TP2.PATCH" in "Big World Fixpack/atweaks".  This might mean that the patches for this mod were made for a different version of the mod than the one that you are using, or this might mean that the mod was already patched and then removed from the list in the "BWP_Fixpack.installed" file without restoring the original pre-patched files. Do you want to try to apply the patch anyway?  If the target file is different from the original file that was used to create the patch, then the patch might fail completely (making no changes) or it might fail partially (making some changes) or it might succeed with 'fuzz' (if all of the lines to change are still in the file, but some other lines were added in between).  If partial patching occurs, the mod might fail to install or manifest other problems later.  If in doubt, please visit one of the modding forums and ask for help. [Enter Y if you want to try patching anyway, anything else to skip patching this mod.]

Edit: I tried to select Recommended only and I got the same error.

Hi. Alien.

I made a  new install.

This time recommended minus EETweaks because it gave an major error in the first time i tried.

I got fewer install errors when installing. I got invalid names in some items such as bag of holdings. And some NPC names were invalid.

You can check the screen shots if you want.

https://drive.google...FHK?usp=sharing

After around one hour of playtime when I was on the first part of the irenicus' dungeoen i got a major bug that doesnt let me save the game.

It says i dont have enough space but i do.

Any help would be welcome.

Hello again,

Thief1992 here. Just thought I'd let you guys know that I just reinstalled the game, and did a basic recommend BWS install. During this install I got the same error with the Tweak Anthology mod. I'll copy and paste it down below.

So I don't think any other mods are interfering with it, but, I think, that something is wrong with the mod itself. I'm not sure what, which is why I'm posting here. Has anyone else experienced this error? Has anyone that has experienced this before also been able to fix it?

If anyone can share any insight they might have concerning this error, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you very much for any and all help.

Error is again as follows:
