I we would give everyone the possibility to just delete their posts then this forum would look like Emmenthaler cheese. (Nothing against Emmenthaler cheese, though, I think it's delicious.)

Uuh, there's plenty wrong with the cheese. You should know that it's just bacterially infested and chemically threated milk, left to rot. :shifty:

@Azazello, it's "Har har."

OK, desert dweller, welcome to the sanity, you are free to search for the limit, it's out there, we drew it in the sand. Ouh, actually it was still snow then.. but anyways.

I would like a way to delete my posts, sometimes I post in the wrong places.

Can't speak for SHS, but generally why that's not done is that it can easily lead to abuses, e.g.

Jastey: Some smart stuff
Cam: Screw you, Imp!
Imp: Screw you, Cam!

If I can delete my post, I can make it look like The Imp is just taking an unprovoked shot at me, the exact opposite of what actually happened:

Jastey: Some smart stuff
Imp: Screw you, Cam!

Granted, you can still pull some duplicity with editing but nothing as egregious. You're better just reporting your own post and waiting for a mod.

Why is this Hypnotoad video so popu... ALL GLORY TO THE HYPNOTOAD.

To be honest, your issue, Camdawg, could be avoided by simply making the delete function available for the people that have been in this forum for a long time (3-5 years).

Low hung brow, dazed look on your face..... It appears that you are correct, my friend. You are indeed a complete imbecile.

Do you know how fractured the forum comes say if I for example would just then choose to DELETE ALL MY POSTS. That's 15 000 posts + links into them. :P

I'm not advocating for a permanent function, even if I would appreciate it. Just by 24 hours the post was made. But no problem, I understand it goes on deaf ears.

Actually, it's 'hear, hear!' You're thinking of 'hardy-har-har!'

jastey, I understand now, and agree.

But like Sergio says, it would be great to have a timeout. Maybe not as long as 24 hours; how's about 30 minutes?

It makes sense, but I'm only staff, I don't have any admin rights. I only noticed that across forums, all admins seem to share the opinion that users should not be able to delete their posts, and I do understand it, especially if you encountered the first user who deleted all contents of all his posts when leaving.

How do I delete my account?

Is it possible to also remove any post I've made?

Hey Sergio, I'm afraid removing account and all his posts will ruin integrity of discussions involved and in general will deprive audience of any knowledge contained in such posts, which is a really bad thing for community. Trust me on that, I am currently browsing a forum where one person freaked out at 2017 and removed all his posts starting from 2008 - it looks extremely ugly and make me mad to think about all the insights I have missed only because I didn't browse that thread 3 years ago.

If you are worried about your posts being done in the wrong place, don't hesitate to report such posts, it doesn't mean auto-ban or anything, it will just draw our attention to a place where something should be fixed, and I'm sure you aren't mistaken often enough to put a strain on us :) In fact, I already saw one of your :deleted: posts, but decided not to remove it without your request.

Because some people might wonder what happen to all my posts here's an explanation:

Apparently, my account was incorrectly marked as 'spam' and all posts got wiped. Usually in such situations the posts are restored from backups, because there was no single active administrator to react earlier that 30+ days later, the site backups was overwritten and 'all posts are gone'.

:wall:  :wall:  :wall:

A big faux pas of the owners, which shows that formerly thriving with life, this site is indeed abandoned.

Yes, this is a catastrophy. Kaeloree usually replies within hours if notified, but SHS is without active admin currently (Creepin, wherever you are, I hope you are alright!), and when staff got note of the situation, the 30 days already passed.

How it came to this is a mystery, there is no history entry, and it took two times to lift the ban because it reset directly after Kaeloree removed it the first time.

Posting in SHSforums is broken, as the former upper console is no where to be seen. So I can still submit BB-code etc but I needed to have learned them before the console went away... as I have learned to do that, but others might not have.

Seems to still be there for me.  Maybe try the drop-down button (see red highlights in the screenshot) or check if it is being caught by an ad-blocker.

I've tested and everything is normal. Check profile options. Disable AdBlocker/NoScript etc.

Under my picture when I post, the forum software is trying to put a picture using

but it doesn't exist:

No, it wasn't... but now it's fixed. What ever was done, wasn't in my end. Unless it came with Firefox v73.0.1

Are you saying you do not the the circus forum? http://www.shsforums...quayles-circus/

SHS doesn't have an active admin currently so there is nothing we can do if that's the case. :(
