Hello, newb question for you. Hope this is the right place to ask it.

I installed Infinity Explorer to try and get at the BG2 banters, but I'm having trouble opening a game. I've lead it to the chitin.key as I did with EEKeeper, but when I click open game it gives me the following:

"No .INI file for any of the known games found in this directory."

I checked around for .INI files and couldn't find any, and that was when I ran out of ideas. I'm sure whatever I'm missing is probably fairly obvious, so many thanks to anyone willing to help me out.

Since you mention EEKeeper, I believe you're playing BG2EE. Infinity Explorer is not compatible with BG2EE.There may be tricks to apply to make it work though.

You can use Near Infinity to read dialogs and banters in BG2EE.

Infinity Explorer is definitely compatible with BGII:EE, I use it all the time for development.

Copy your dialog.tlk from the /lang/ folder into your main BGII:EE directory, and copy your baldur.ini file (located in my documents/baldur's gate ii - enhanced edition/) over as well. Open the game in Infinity Explorer, et voilà. :)

A follow-up question though, if you would. Many of banter files display the error message: Invalid TLK index "X", with X being a variety of six digit codes. Are there other files I need to copy over, or is this a problem of a different nature?

Fixed that by re-copying the file. I still can't seem to access the Banter Pack download, if anyone has any tips aside from reinstalling, which I've tried.
