Starting a new mega-mod game.  I have all the latest editions of the mods I want in my game except Difficulty and Tweaks v6.

 

I went to "kerzenburg" and downloaded the file Diff_Tweak.exe from Gibberlings 3.  I cannot extract or run the file.  I get errors both ways.  If I move the file to Notepad, I see the entire contents of the file.

 

I search Gibberlings 3 for the Difficulty and Tweaks file but found nothing.  I search Gibberlings 3 for the Mix Mod file but found nothing.  Searched the Internet for "Difficulty and Tweaks v6" and found some listings.  Nothing had the file.  I did get one reference for Difficulty and Tweaks v7, but it was just a forum.

 

Two questions.  Is there a place I can get a working copy of Difficulty and Tweaks v6 or Difficulty and Tweaks v7?  Can I substitute Mix Mod v6 for Difficulty and Tweaks v6 and not have a problem?

Yep, but attached one is still alive, you only need to rename it, as said in post:

You can also find the install file attached, just change its extension from txt to exe

 

Maybe unregistered users can not download, dont know. If so, then try this: link to the attached file.

I couldn't actually download the original threads posted link for what ever reason, but I can download that link...(it's probably how the link is represented in the other forum), but I could that one. Thanks form me too.

Thanks Quiet and Imp.

 

I downloaded Diff_Tweak.exe.  I cannot open it with 7-Zip as I can with other *.exe mods.  I copied it to a BGII - SoA game folder and tried to execute the file.  I got a message the the file had errors.  I guess I will use Mix Mod v5 as that is the latest I have.

I downloaded Diff_Tweak.exe.

Erhm, you can't... the fact is, you can only download the .txt... you can change the file extension after the downloading is over form the .txt to be a .exe instead of .txt ... try again. Or ou just got a downloading error... as I can open to extract the file with WinRAR.

Hi The Imp:

 

If you change Diff_Tweak.exe to Diff_Tweak.txt and open it with Wordpad (not Notepad or Microsoft Word) you get what looks like a TP2 file.  At least to me it looks that way.  I really do not know what to do with it.  So I will use Mix Mod v5 and hope for the best.

 

It is beyond me why it was not written like a typical BG mod.

Hi The Imp:

If you change Diff_Tweak.exe to Diff_Tweak.txt and open it with Wordpad ..

Ahh... yeah... the thing is, you use the IOS( Macintosh whatever...), and the .exe is a Windows execution file. So when you downloaded the file, it comes out as a .txt that needs to be renamed as .exe and then opened with appropriate software. Yes, the file in a .txt extension can be opened with a Notepad or any other .txt file opener, but there's symbols besides the usual letters that make a normal text... (the Window Notepad rendition of the files begin).

 

So do as it's said in the above and it will work. As it's just how those things go(as the symbols mean something totally different from their ANSI-related rendition ). And by the way, a .tp2 doesn't show up like that, but like this; 

If it's programmed with a Notepad, if it's not then the file can have a lack of line ends that won't show up on Notepad, but will show up on another kind of text editor(Notepad++)... but there's not one that I have seen that have these randomly picked symbols on it; :ý»¯ýÃ,ýŸ»¯ýÃ<ý »¯ý» ... unless it's a .tra file(of non English decent translation).

I can't say anything for sure, but the version history in this says up to v6... it could be the last. Don't know.

V7 is the latest .. Currently unavailable, though. The new Tweaks Anthology covers some of the same ground (has a range of options for item stacking).
