No Cowled Wizards??

I am in the BG2 portion of a BGT + many other mods game. To my knowledge, there is no mod that removes the Cowled Wizards from Athkatla, at least intentionally, but I have been casting Arcane Magic willy nilly ever since I arrived in Amn, and no Cowled Wizards have ever appeared to tell me to knock it off. I did not pay for the license, I did not turn Valygar in to them or anything that might make them like me, in fact I betrayed Tolgerias in the Sphere Quest. I HAVE dropped below Reputation 3 a few times, but even when I am above Rep 3 they still don't spawn. Does anyone have any idea how I can get them to spawn again? I've checked all my globals and don't see anything that suggests they shouldn't be spawning, except perhaps CRIMINAL 1 which I believe indicates I am at or below Rep 3.

Have you done this arcane casting outside in the day light ? Say try to fireball an innocent ... :devil: ... and then move a bit the enforcers should be coming.

Yes, I have tried killing all sorts of innocent passers-by, with no result whatsoever except rep reduction.

Is there anyone here who knows why this problem happens? It only occurs when I talk to belt after killing Sarevok to transfer to BG2, it does not happen when I start a new BG2 game.

I just wanted to give an update in case anyone else ever has this problem and needs a fix; I solved this problem by changing the global CRIMINAL to 0.

It seems that you can trip the system in BG2 which stops the cowled wizard spawns and activates the amnish patrol spawns even if you are in the BG1 portion of the game, simply by letting your reputation dip below 3. Even after raising reputation, this global seems to persist. It's a really easy fix if you ever encounter this problem and happen to google my thread, so just go into ShadowKeeper (or EEKeeper if you're one of those folks) and find the global; or you can CLUA it - CLUAConsole:SetGlobal ("CRIMINAL", "Global", "0")

I apologize, disregard the post above; that fixed a DIFFERENT bug I encountered recently; the correct global to change is "BRIBEDCOWLED", set it to 0.

IIRC, CRIMINAL relates to the endgame of BG1 when the flaming fist attempts to arrest you.

The reason for the global being set is still the same, however. (I didn't mix EVERYTHING up!) If you go below 3 reputation, BRIBEDCOWLED will be set to 2, which means you have either bought a license, and then had it revoked due to a rep drop, OR you never bought a license, and the cowled wizards stopped trying to reason with you and started assisting the guards in killing you on sight. Or... that you did some evil stuff a few hundred miles to the north, and the cowled wizards decided you were a jerk, lol.

So if you don't play evil, you will probably never encounter this problem :)
