Yoshimo will not talk to me!

When I met Yoshimo in Irenicus' dungeon, I took Yoshimo into my party.  After his experience got adjusted, I released him from my party and sent him to The Copper Coronet.  I picked up Kachico, exited the dungeon and bought some stuff in Waukeen's Promenade.  I went to The Copper Coronet and tried to talk with Yoshimo.  I get the "Yoshimo - has nothing to say to you." response.  Kachico gets the same response.  Search for a solution but cannot find one.  No other mod with Yoshimo is installed.

 

Any suggestions.  I will save this game, but in the meantime I will also replay it from the fight with Severok and try keeping him in the party.  But, I Will need to loose someone else from my party.

It could be that Y wishes to talk to Kachico directly, so you might wish to make sure all the party membes are in the visual range of Yoshimo before you start the talk, and for kicks, use K to start it.

Thanks for the suggestion.  I have ensured that Yoshimo is as close to the other six as possible.  He still will not talk to anyone in my group.  Remove one of my group so there is room for Yoshimo.  He still will not talk to anyone in the group.

 

I checked the Global variables.  There is one that could be a problem.  It is:  NAME = YOSHIMOTALKSPC and VALUE = 58287803.  Is this correct?

I replayed the game.  This time I took Yoshimo into my party.  I check the Global Variables.  This time the value for YOSHIMOTALKSPC was 58498485.  I changed the variable in the game where Yoshimo does not talk to me, but it did NOT fix the problem.  So I will play my new game drop the original game.

Try and check if the variable is a timer... aka, set it to be close to 1, via the console:

 CLUAConsole:SetGlobal("YOSHIMOTALKSPC","GLOBAL",1)

And then wait a few minutes(actual reaction should be a less than a second or so) and see if Yoshi will talk to you.

I lost that game and started a new one.  So I will replay that part, try your suggestion, and report the results.  I expect it will take me about four days.

Yoshimo did not talk to me.  I got the "Yoshimo has nothing to say to you." message.  Set YOSHIMOTALKSPC Global variable to "1"

Tried to talk to Yoshimo again.  I got the same message that he will not talk to me.

 

In the message, there is a large dot in the center of the line after Yoshimo.  It looks like ALT-0183 (·).

 

My plan is to CTRL-Y Yoshimo, then CLUAConsole him back into the game.

My solution to the problem.  I went to the home of the druid in Waukeen's Promenade.  Created Yoshimo (YOSHI12).  I determined this was the version of Yoshimo that met me in Irenicus' dungeon.  Removed Yoshimo from my group and Kachico went with him.  Went to the Copper Coronet and CTRL-Y the non-talking Yoshimo.  You cannot kill Yoshimo with Kachico present because she will leave.  Went back to the home of the druid in Waukeen's Promenade.  Yoshimo now talks to me.  So I assume all is well with him.

 

The Global variable for YOSHIMOTALKSPC is now 58797138.

Kind of sorta happened to me as well. Installing Tortured Soul, NeJ, Yoshimo Friendship and Yoshimo Romance.

 

Calling for a The One Yoshimo?

Hi Nightfarer:

 

I do not have NeJ, Yoshimo Friendship or Yoshimo Romance installed.  I have Tortured Souls TS-BP installed.  I do not know which mod is causing the problem, but I am having several bugs with SoA that I have not experienced in my last several (more than 10) BGT games.

 

In areas that have not been modified recently, the game plays without error.  But in areas where there have been recent modifications, I have lots of problems and crashes.

Don't know, too busy working on english translations to look at it, though I experienced the same problem several times.

 

My guess is that it could be due to something like several Yoshimo NPCs. But please take it for what it's like... a guess and guess only.

More about Yoshimo. From Irenicus's dungeon, I sent Yoshimo to the Copper Coronet. After leaving Irenicus's dungeon I went to the Copper Coronet and Yoshimo would not talk to me. I went to a house in Waukeen's Promenade and CLUAConsoled Yoshimo in. Then I remove Yoshimo from my group and left him in the house. I went back to the Copper Coronet and now Yoshimo talks to me like he should. Well I cannot have two Yoshimos in the game so the Copper Coronet one got removed with CTRL-Y. Tom
