@Sergio: I'll tell you more via PM.
@Thimblerig:
Alas, I ran into a bug:
After a fight (this was in a special area for one of Amber's quests, though I don't think that's relevant), Afaaq started pausing in the middle of actions. When I talk to him he thinks that he is still in the lamp, recuperating. When hovering the cursor over him he reads as uninjured. I cannot tell him to get back in the lamp to reset (because he thinks he's already in there). Using the "You're behaving oddly" dialogue option isn't doing anything I can see. Resting does not help.
I replayed the fight and he got killed and hopped back in the lamp as per normal.
Any suggestions?
That can happen (although very rarely) when one of his script actions are interrupted (e.g. his transformation into a gaseous cloud or his death animation). I've made these actions uninterruptible, but the game engine doesn't seem to care sometimes. If that is happening again, try telling him to "come out of his lamp" to restore his normal behavior. If that doesn't work, select the dialog option "You are behaving oddly. Care to fix it?". This issue is also covered in the Troubleshooting section of the readme.
In the unlikely case that none of the above suggestions are working, you'll have to reset some states and variables of the djinni in a savegame editor. I have yet to come up with a easy to follow instruction how to do it however.
