Kachiko doesn't recognize Yoshimo

Hi, it's been a while, but once again it's time for my yearly BG playthroughs and things were going pretty great (except the occasional bug I already know how to handle).

This time the issue is completely new to me, probably because this is one of the first times I tried Never Ending Journey. Let alone in combination with Tortured Souls (and again in combination with lvl1npcs which playing around with Yoshimos .cre used to be a problem.

So this time I used lvl1npc I turned botch Kachiko and Yoshimo into Kensai (to be dualed once they reach level 9, which some CLUA consoling did pretty much immediately, I my main character came back from the Severed Hand with some 700k xp after all).

 

Anyway, I come back with Hrothgar, go through the portal for level 2 of CI and there are 2 Yoshimos. Both are level 1 Kensai, so far so good. I send the first one on his way, and recruit the second one. When I get to the exit, Kachiko recognizes him, they have their little chat and she joins the group So far so good.

 

I've been starting the Temple Quest, and meanwhile Hrotghar starts his talks about Ulcaster and each time I agree to go with him, Kachiko comes up saying that I'd be abandoning her search for Yoshimo. When he's right there in my group.

So...I'm kinda lost here.

As a completely wild guess, may be TS checks for certain cre being in party for Kachiko join dialogue, but checks for certain global variable instead for further dialogues (like, variable "Youshimo was sent away")? This could explain behaviour you've described. Any way, the first thing you should do is to find relevant dialogue in NearInfinity/InfinityExplorer and check what are the triggers for Kachi to believe Youshimo is not around.

P.S. Also, you should have just Ctrl-Q'ed second Youshimo instead of letting him go, just in case.

Well, as mentioned. When Kachiko joined she recognized Yoshimo and they had their little chit chat and she joined.  My problem seems to be tied to Hrothgar somehow. I guess I'll have to relearn to use NI again.

 

I have tried before and that time (with the other Yoshimo in my party) she went hostile when I told her I hadn't seen Yoshimo.

Whenever I reassure her that we're gonna look for Yoshimo she stays and nothing really changes.Yoshimo and Kachiko barely ever talked (if at all) other than when she joined...

Are those talks from Hrothgar supposed to teleport you to Ulcaster?

 

Just tried to install NI, don't have Java on that computer...and no online either so I'll postpone this probably for tomorrow or later today.
