UI is too small

Long story short, the UI and menus get significantly smaller the higher the resolution is set to (as well as the game itself being zoomed out a bit too much), which makes playing at my laptop's native resolution of 1600 x 900 a pain and forces me to drop the resolution down to 1280 x 720 in order to get things up to a tolerable size. Is there any way to fix this, or will I have to keep playing on lower resolutions in order to not have to squint at the UI? I know that the fonts are resizeable, but what about everything else UI-related?

It's not really, you would also have to create the resized UI elements, find their individual placement and make the changes according .... so it's a lot more work, and it's not likely to be done.
What you can do though, is to use the HDMI connector on your laptop and plug into a TV. The screen pixel density will be lower on a TV, so you should be able to see it from there better, even on a higher resolution. Yes, I am aware it can be awkward too.
The last solution of course is to get better eyes...

But really this game is not actually about the pixel density, but the story, so playing it with 1280 x 720 shouldn't be a problem. Or, 960x540, 1024x576, 1360x768 ...

Yep, Jarno Mikkola. my Mega Mod FAQ. Use of the BWS, and how to use it(scroll down that post a bit).
OK, desert dweller, welcome to the sanity, you are free to search for the limit, it's out there, we drew it in the sand. Ouh, actually it was still snow then.. but anyways.

Unfortuntely, my tv doesn't let you disable overscan, meaning that playing PS:T would be impossible on it. It's also a fairly small (i believe 27" or 28") 1080p screen, so playing on the tv's native resolution would make things even smaller than they are now on such a small tv.

As for playing on 1280 x 720 in general, The sharpness drop is just really noticeable when playing below the native resolution, for the usual reasons on playing something other than native. The UI is also still somewhat small for my liking in many scenarios even at 1280 x 720, though it's at that point of being just tolerable enough to play.

Also, I wish I could get better eyes. Mine get strained really easily. You bully! T-T (/joke on the bully part)

Thanks for the response, nonetheless. I honestly didn't expect even one so soon, given how old this mod is and how often people seem to post here.

The UI scales with the game, that's how the engine works. Changing the size of each of the UI's elements would, unfortunately, be an extremely difficult job.

Reducing the resolution is the way to go in order to get a bigger UI (and of course use the bigger text option if needed). Also have in mind that even though very high resolutions look great, this game was developed for 640x480, so upping the resolution too much in a small screen would make it too small for the user, and also sometimes you may see things the developer didn't want you to see right away (like an event that trigger-spawns in the distance).

Thankfully we've got our friendly neighborhood imp ( :new_thumbs: ) with fast responses and help, because I'm usually pretty slow and lazy with those :P
