BGT (And Tweaks) oddities on 1.18

Forgive me for not really knowing much anything about modding.  I use a few basic mods (BGT, Fixpack, Tweak, and usually Item Upgrade, Underrepresented, and an NPC or two so I can have an all good/evil party with a thief without making one), so I don't think it's a compatibility issue.

 

Anyway, after installing the newest BGT and Tweaks, I noticed just a few things:

 

-The trap/lock xp was greatly reduced, and the "restore" option is no longer shown in Tweaks

-The "reveal city" option doesn't seem to work (Candlekeep, Beregost, the Gate, etc. are still covered)

- "import more items" is no longer an option

 

I'll freely admit that I'm not a purist (I play it for the story, and do use the "cheat" mods like infinite stacking), and that these are not huge issues.  The thing is that these only happened in the last couple of versions - basically when it started being supported for EE after it came out (I have the originals).

 

Since this is really too minor to concern devs with, does anyone know the last versions of BGT/fix/tweak where this did not occur?  I've never had crash issues or the like since starting using the mods (About 1.08, give or take a version, for BGT), so I'd be happy just taking a slightly older version.

I think that the issue with the The BG2 Tweaks reveal component is that it had an option added which hide a few more places, EDIT: Erhm, the readme says: " This tweak is not available for Baldur's Gate Trilogy as it contains this functionality by default."
Copy paste the weidu.log's content to a post please, it's in the game directory, and you can open it with Notepad.
 
The BG2 Tweaks also has the traps and locks component in it in the level 50 ruleset, it basically just copies the "xpbonus.2da" -file to the override folder. You can edit the file with Notepad again, if you like.
I would actually suggest that one would use a table that's made to give a stable XP bonus independent of the level, as it happens to be the character level, and not the trap or lock difficulty :wall: , so you get 1000xp from disarming a trap on level 1 as in level 50, or use this table:

Unfortunately I don't have the readout right now - I've done a clean reinstall of BG and was waiting on info before modding it out again (I've done this a comical amount of times over several years).  Thanks for taking the time to put up with me and my shoddy memory (Forgot the Tweak option was to hide in later versions, but you knew what I meant).

:lol: It might be comical, but there is nothing to laugh about it... :lol:

:ph34r: done it too, with vanilla, then with BiG Picture, then BiG World Project, and then BiG World Setup, made a few mods and edited others, now they throw in the Enhanced Editions, and still the feakazoid install is not even complete, and I haven't completed the game even ones... :devil: ... darn it. :wub:

"Reveal areas" is still bugged in BG1 when playing in BGT, but the trap/lock xp is fixed, and found a mod that imports more stuff.  Only one link of it worked, and it initially put a warning page up, so I won't link it until a scan is complete, just in case.

 

Edit:  OK, scan ran clear and the last warning was a few days ago, so I think it was a temporary issue - Everyone use at your own risk anyway.  http://america.iegmc....net/kh_mods/  (BG2SoAv3 is the one) will supposedly restore the extended item import that used to be part of the Tweak pack if anyone else likes it (Some of these are used by Cromwell, so it makes it possible to have a spare of some really useful stuff).

 

Edit (Hopefully this doesn't necro the thread):  Revealed areas works without the Tweak pack (Trying a proper purist run this time).

More Edit:  Spoke too soon, it's only for Candlekeep.  No matter.
