Hi there,

So, I'm in the process of installing BGT, the installer of which has hit me with a prompt that I wasn't able to make sense of:

"Do you want to biff all new resources? (reccommended, except for mega modification installations)"

Should I biff or not? I'm installing BGT alongside quite a few other mods (Tobex, G3 Fixes, gMinion, SCS, etc.), if that helps.

It's only recommended to not bif if you intent to install a lots of other mods that can edit the same resources and thus produce duplicates if the biffing is done in the middle, when the Generalized Biffing -mod is installed at the very end, aka Megamoding. So not installing the bif-fing is done only to remove the possible double file entries in the .bif files that waste space... but that's the only reason the option is even there. Well that and the wasted processing speed in auto installs(megamoding again).

Although I would recommend that you would install the generalized biffing at the end of your install, cause it could use it cause of the SCS, you can still install the BGT-weidu's Biffing, as it will bif a few of the files that itself installs. And the generalized biffing doesn't need to do it after.

What the biffing does is, it packs the game files so that the engine can load them faster. Specially the effect can be seen in large media files, scripts etc.

So, go ahead and bif.

Yep, Jarno Mikkola. my Mega Mod FAQ. Use of the BWS, and how to use it(scroll down that post a bit).
OK, desert dweller, welcome to the sanity, you are free to search for the limit, it's out there, we drew it in the sand. Ouh, actually it was still snow then.. but anyways.
