Hi guys
I was using BWP a long time ago when there was no BWS and came back now :)
I have installed the game using BWS but i cannot start it. Every time i try to start new game(either in single or multi) i get:

[Sun 15 Feb 2015 09:35:03] ASSERTION FAILED! Return Address: 0x86BE9E File: ObjAnimation.cpp Line: 23792 Expression: itemFlags&ITEM_FLAGS_TWOHANDED && resref != "" Message: (null)

By starting I mean that i cannot even get to character creation when i chose new game (BG1/BGT/BG2:ToB any of those single/multi) the game just crashes when it should go to character creation screen.

Before the installation i forgot to start the game and make a save - could this be the culprit of everything? Do i have to reinstall ? :)

Have you tried to use another kit to start the game with, and or another stage, so not just the BG1 start(assuming you use the BGT), but the SoA start and the ToB start ?
Attaching my weidu log.
Open the file with Notepad and copy paste the text to an edit of the first post, within these:

Yep, Jarno Mikkola. my Mega Mod FAQ. Use of the BWS, and how to use it(scroll down that post a bit).
OK, desert dweller, welcome to the sanity, you are free to search for the limit, it's out there, we drew it in the sand. Ouh, actually it was still snow then.. but anyways.

Hmm, given that you do not have widescreen mod installed... open the baldur.ini file with Notepad and copy paste the content to a post.

Given that the install succeeded in other aspects, it's very unlikely that this is your culprit ... so reinstall won't solve your problem. (that is to say that the weidu.log is in the game directory, assuming here).

Yep weidu.log is in the game directory.
I will provide baldur.ini as soon as i get home from work :)
Thank you for your help The Imp :)

But from looking on the exception that i got - "ObjAnimation.cpp Line: 23792 Expression:itemFlags&ITEM_FLAGS_TWOHANDED && resref != "" Message: (null)" - i would suspect some mod that changes animation for TwoHandedWeapons or anything else for TwoHandedWeapons ?

I haven't seen an install this big in a while, some mods I've never heard of or seem completly useless (multi-stronghold mod? wtf is that shit, there's a component that does it all in bg2 tweaks). For my part I suspect one of the many kit mods and specificallyr :

PIRATE/SETUP-PIRATE.TP2~ #1 #6 // Regional innate gifts ->  Pirate of Zakhara: Ultimate Grand Mastery of the scimitar (6th proficiency slot available): For the pirates of the burning sands of Zakhara, scimitars are handled with such skill that they are considered as 2-handed weapons +1, thus benefiting from the same advantages in terms of damage, without the disadvantage of -2 to movement speed due the weight of the latter. : v1

Well, honestly, I assumed that you were using one of the officially unsupported resolutions, and those got a lot of problems on anything else (larger) than (the one exception of) the 1024x768, as that works flawlessly. Yeah, it's a bad assumption, but I got to make it as it's the only one I have got at this moment. Well, unless one of the mods made a huge mistake ... but that is somewhat unlikely, hopefully at least.
There's a very good reason why this could wreck havoc to the start of the game, it's that the staff that every one of the players start the game with is a two handed weapon, and a known error happens when you equip a two handed weapon in the unsupported resolutions, it breaks the character avatar screen in the inventory, as the offsets go way off the screen, crashing the game. But of course I could be way off.

@Imp : As far as i remember i did set it to 1024x768 but i will recheck that when i get home.

@Beleg : As for multi stronghold mod i chosen one suggested by BWS - it was suggested over BG2 tweaks component. As for the rest i was basically trying to check if it will work with that many kits - like i said i am not afraid to troubleshoot and do reinstalls and i like to have my game as big as possible :)

Thank you both for support again :)

When i get back home today i will try to run it in any of standard resolutions. If it will not work i will try reinstalling without component that Beleg suggested.

Edit:
Tried running it in 640x480, 800x600 and 1024x768 - same results - will try reinstalling when i have a bit more time :)

I found few mods that did not install with similar errors - maybe this will help:

ERROR: BIFF [./DATA/AREA000C.BIF] cannot be loaded: Unix.Unix_error(20, "stat", "./DATA/AREA000C.BIF")
ERROR: Failure("resource [AR0042.mos] not found for 'COPY'")
AjocMod Weidu (Ajoc's Minimod) was not installed due to errors.
