Hi all,

Attempting a BWP install using the Big World Installpack v14.3.1 and have hit a snag. It's the seemingly common "25 Movies.bif" issue but so far none of my attempts to solve the problem following the advice on this forum have worked. Upon running the installer as admin and specifying the path to my game folder, I'm met with the error message attached.

I believe I have put the file in the correct place (attached) and I think I've got the correct path specified in the baldur.ini file:

[Alias]
HD0:=C:\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\
CD1:=C:\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\CDALL\
CD2:=C:\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\CDALL\
CD3:=C:\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\CDALL\
CD4:=C:\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\CDALL\
CD5:=C:\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\CDALL\;C:\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\CD5\

Any ideas as to where I went wrong? Thanks in advance for any help offered. The sheer amount of effort and to get these mods running and the ongoing support for absolute modding beginners such as myself is sincerely appreciated!

Is the computer using the Windows 8.1 Operation System ?
The reason why I ask is that the files you copy to the folder are not actually written there on that OS, but to a mirrored folder that's is reassigned to appear C:\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\CD5\ while it's not actually there(so they end up being in the hidden C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\CD5\ -folder.
To get around that, you have to install the games that do not have dedicated moding support or systems that work in the new environment into C:\Users\<username>\ sub-folders, where the <username> is the profile you use to log in to Windows. This is problem is Local Disk drive only of course.

Also there's a few virus protection programs that are as insane as the Windows with this new age ¤%&/#"#¤%"# "protection", as they construct sandboxes for the kids(you, teh user), an example is the Comodo Antivirus program.

Yep, Jarno Mikkola. my Mega Mod FAQ. Use of the BWS, and how to use it(scroll down that post a bit).
OK, desert dweller, welcome to the sanity, you are free to search for the limit, it's out there, we drew it in the sand. Ouh, actually it was still snow then.. but anyways.

Thanks for the quick response Imp :)

Running Windows 7 32 Bit.

I thought I was pretty succinct in my initial post. Forgot to include OS. My mistake.

Erhm, in which directory is the BiG World Install.bat when you run it ? It needs to be in...

C:\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\

So I gave up last night after a fair bit of tinkering. Today I did a full clean install and voila! It appears to be working! Thanks for your suggestions Imp. If I have any more hiccups, I'll be sure to let you know :D
