I wanted to play BG2 with just a few mods but including Rukrakia and Les exiles, so I needed the BWP fix pack and text pack.
when I open the batch file it says press any key to continue but then opens a new window ( \utils\patch.exe ) but does nothing.
the game is on the C drive but not program files. windows 8.1 64.
I have disabled the UAC and compatibility assistant .
please help.

Is it in your personal profile files ? Cause if not, the Windows 8.1 will not allow you to access it, just like the Win 7 doesn't allow access to the Program Files folders.

uninstalled and reinstalled to C:\Users\Firas\games\BG2 ( I suppose this is what you meant)...same thing.
