Hello,

 

I am getting very close to completing a run through BG2 after manually installing about 40 mods.  Have encountered a number of weird bugs, but was able to work around all but this latest problem, which is a very serious roadblock.

 

Have fought my way through Suldanessellar, climbed up the Tree of Life, killed the three infestations, and then successfully battled Irenicus. 

 

However, as soon as I kill Irenicus (either normally or via repeated ctrl-Y) the game goes into an infinite script looping sequence, starting with "Irenicus crumbles, his words dying on his lips, etc.....)  The game moves to a couple more text screens, then simply repeats itself, over and over again.  I would dearly love to be able to move on to the next game area, the Nine Hells, so I can finish the game and be able to import my party into Throne of Bhaal.

 

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can resolve this infinite text looping problem?

Good news!

 

In the Tree of Life, after killing the second infestation, I simply skipped killing the third infestation, as that would have brought on the battle with Irenicus that previously always ended with infinite script looping.

 

Instead, I used CLUAConsole to move my party to area AR2900, The Nine Hells.  Was then able to collect the Bhaal tears, open the sealed door, and proceed to the final battle with Irenicus, after which my party got transported to ToB and my game was auto saved.  Hurray!!!!!!!!

 

I've played partly through BG2 SoA plenty of times, have now played completely through it two times, but I don't think I've ever actually played the ToB expansion part.  Am really looking forward to doing that  now.  Wish me good luck and happy adventuring.

Congrats on solving that . Have fun in ToB, its one of the best expansions for a game ever.
