Hello everyone,

My question is in the title really. Numerous mods have glaring grammatical errors in their dialogues and/or item descriptions; which drives me nuts. Now, as a noob, I'm unfamiliar with how WeiDU works. Can I edit the accompanying .tra files to make them less cringy?

Yes :D But it will only help if you edit them before installing.

Would be great if you can share them with the mod authors or even just here since we have Nightfarer handling the English BWP Textpack here :P

When there's trouble brewing, see me post, cuz it's usually a wall o' yellow and your eyes are toast!!!"

You need to pay attention to encoding (ascii for regular non-EE games), and avoid using MS Word/markup; the best way to avoid having things mess up .tra files is to edit them with a code editor like Notepad++, JEdit, Crimson, etcetera.

Thank you! I'll be sure to do that.

Most of the errors/inconsistencies are in very old mods so contacting mod authors is not usually an option.

I am unfamiliar with what BWP Textpack does.

Hi Apsis.

Write me a PM listing the mods you would like to edit.

Perhaps you might also be interested in giving a hand proofreading some english translations?

However, please take care I won't be able to reply before tomorrow.

BWP Textpacks add support for languages not included in "vanilla" mods.

Up to a point. Yes, one could use the MS Word to print out the translation file, and then later as you work the file, you can open it with Notepad++ and set up the file so that it doesn't have the horrors that the MS Word can infect it with. The Notepad++ comes with a replace function that can be very useful.

Yep, Jarno Mikkola. my Mega Mod FAQ. Use of the BWS, and how to use it(scroll down that post a bit).
OK, desert dweller, welcome to the sanity, you are free to search for the limit, it's out there, we drew it in the sand. Ouh, actually it was still snow then.. but anyways.
