So I have no idea which forum to post this to (so sorry if it's in the wrong one). Anyway, I recently did a custom BWS install, which didn't give any errors during the installation. But the problem is every time someone joins my party or levels up, some completely unrelated string pops up. Using DLCTEP, I managed to find the problem(s): the second one appears to be the Expanded Thief Stronghold Mod, and the first one is when you talk to Gerran's kid in the Windspear hills (I guess a mod must have modified the dialog? I don't remember having this issue in the vanilla game).

You have brought happiness to my father again. It has been some time since he has been able to help anyone in need. Please, do not disappoint him. STRREF: 34079
GARKID01
State #0 uses strref #34079 as actor text
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Actually, leave him as is. Go to the next rogue. STRREF: 32332
SHTHLT01
Transition #22 uses strref #32332 as player text
TSGLT1
Transition #24 uses strref #32332 as player text

Anyway, how do I fix them? I haven't used DLCTEP all that much...

This would happen if you do a new install but play from a saved game from the former install. The strref's of certain dialogues/creatures/items etc from the old game no longer match your installation. (The text appearing does not mean that those mods are the source of the issue, they just happen to have this string number now in your game that was used by another dialogue in your old installation.)

It happens even if I start a new game, though...

Either

In this case mostly the reason is some install/un-install problem that mangled dialogue.tlk - but you said earlier that your install went without any problem....

Or

It would be interesting to see which mod adds to the level-up process (joining and level up causes it) - it is likely that the invisible creature triggered by level-up has some fixed string references that relate to those mod lines in your installation. It is very unlikely that those other mods have anything to do with the issue.

You should post your weidu.log in this thread.
