Hi all,

I am having some difficulty installing BGT on my Mac running El Capitan 10.11.5.

I followed this guide:

When trying to biff the new resources, I am hit with a "Path not found" error. Debug log included below and very grateful for any help!

Hi - forgot to add the link to the tutorial I used (I have the GOG edition of the full BG1 and 2 games (which include the necessary expansions). https://www.gog.com/...s/mods_with_mac

Thanks again,

Matt

You're not the only one, I'm afraid.

I took an approach to install the game on El Capitan, and I'm having the same issue (you'll find some additional information at the end of the other thread: http://www.shsforums...os-x-106/page-4).

I did go through the BGT installation a year or two ago, and I made it through somehow. I'm not sure what has changed since then (in OS X? in gog app wrapper?).

I've decided I can still invest 2-3 work hours to try to figure out how to make a Mac-only installation (without Windows virtual machine), but then I officially surrender (and move to Win VM). Knowing how to debug TP2 scripts would definitely help.

Thanks for the reply. With the lack of info out there, I assumed this was the case. I unfortunately don't know much about programming so that type of troubleshooting is out of the question! I will have to run this on my Windows partition. Appreciate the insight.

Did you ever find a solution to this on the mac installation?  I've run into the same problem but don't have a Windows partition.

You could run an instance of WinXP or something similarly old and easy to get (maybe tinyXP? research it before doing that) in VirtualBox. Install BG1 and BG2 there, and install the first few things, up to BGT. Then make a backup of that game folder so you always have a clean BGT install. And replace your Mac BG2 game folder with that BGT game folder. After that, most mods should install just fine with Mac Weidu.

Roughly how large will the BGT game folder be?  I'm wondering if I can do the install as you described on a friend's windows machine and then somehow move it over to my mac.  Thanks!

You could definitely do that. With my experience with TOB from GOG, the game folder doesn't seem to care about the OS or filesystem. I installed ToBEx and 1PP and BGT in Windows; then extracted that game folder out into OS X, where my backup still lives; and then copied it into the simulated C: drive in the GOG BG2 WINE wrapper. It runs just fine. Transferring via a USB stick or something should be okay too.

Btw no need to install BG1 on the Mac - it is only need in Windows for the BGT installation.

I forget how big the games are, but I would make sure there is about 15GB free to do the installation. Then once you have it working on your computer, and you have the clean BGT backup folder, you can delete everything from the Windows computer.

I think a base BGT is just under 6gb once it's completed.

Thanks! I'll try that tonight.
