Done a Big World Install with Refinments - install each class HLA separately and i did not select Bard and Thief for their HLA since i was also installing RR.
Anyway the thing is some of my HLA's are messed up.

E.g.: My Ranger/Cleric is not getting combat prayers or mass raise deadeven though he is supposed to, he is however getting improved ambidexterity (a pureclass ranger-only HLA) and smite.

Odd thing is i'm also getting Use any item with Bards and Thiefs even though i'm supposed not to. Though that's probably an RR issue since i excluded Thief and Bard HLA's from Refinements.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

Well, if you do not install the Bards and Thieves HLA thingymachic, then I don't thing you are supposed to be restricted from getting the UAI HLA as a thief.

Yep, Jarno Mikkola. my Mega Mod FAQ. Use of the BWS, and how to use it(scroll down that post a bit).

Probably. Most pure-classes seem to be ok (except Barbarian who has "Smite" for some reason), mostly multiclasses have HLA's mixed up and idk why :<

1. Just to get it out of the way: if thieves get UAI in vanilla/RR, and you specifically do *not* install Refinements changes to thief HLAs, it is not an "odd thing" that thieves are getting UAI in your game. Rather, it is the intended result of your chosen mod setup.

Feel free to install this along with RR HLAs by the way - they are now totally 100% compatible. Install RR first, then Refinements v4 beta. Refinements will gracefully defer to the RR HLAs where appropriate, it doesn't overwrite anything. :)

2) As for your other issues: I'll look into it. It was a bit difficult to deal with multiclasses when breaking out the code on a class-by-class basis. For instance, it shouldn't install the mage/thief HLAs unless it also installs *both* the mage HLAs *and* the thief HLAs individually. But I can't know in advance which ones the user will choose.

I thought I cracked it, but I'll take another look to be sure. Out of curiosity, what is the basis for what you think is supposed to be happening? I thought I made the tables match the tables that Refinements v3.31 used to copy into the game...

More generally, with bug reports like this, more information and detail is always better. "Tables are mixed up" doesn't really help me fix anything. Specific stuff like in your first post ("cleric/Rangers should not be getting ambidextrously, and they should be getting combat prayers") is much more helpful.

then Refinements v4 beta.
You made it, so... where's the link to it, the forum has v3.01 link stabled, if you notice.
You have the EE v0.6 beta, but that's ... not likely it.

Refinements_EE 0.6
Refinements v4 beta 6

I don't know what to call this thing. I originally said Refinements_EE but it works just fine on the old engine. I was wary of calling it a continuation of 3.31 because I'm not worthy etc. And it's sort of a clean break. But realistically, it's a new version of the mod (so let's go to 4, from 3.x) and it's basically in open beta right now, and it's the 6th installment of this new version. So unless it offends the original authors, let's say "v4 beta 6."

But anyway there's only one link, it's in the next thread over ("modularized and updated" or whatever) and that link is to the most up-to-date version.

Yeah but like I said it's not just for EE. Works fine on TOB/BGT as well.

The third Release Candidate build for the 4.0 release is conventionally called 4.0-rc3 (changing for simplicity from MAJOR.MINOR.PATCH to MAJOR.PATCH), with the first stable release being 4.0 and the subsequent stable patch being 4.1. Adding EE to the mod's name is misleading, since non-EE users can install 4.0-rc3 (and may, in fact, want to do so, if they want to split the HLA components).

Big World Setup should deal fine with the order, right?

Thanks so much for the help btw people.

Quoting myself because i just did a full reinstall with the entire HLA component of Refinments and got the same issues:

Ranger/cleric gets ambidexterity instead of combat prayers, i also get smite although i shouldn't.

Barbarian also gets smite although he shouldn't. I also can pick toughness twice (as in there are 2 separate Toughness HLA icons that i can choose from in the abilities section).

I've not tested everything else, though most pure-classes seem to work fine (except barbarian). What could be the issue? Should i be installing each mod separately instead of using BWP?

@uaciaut Please post a weidu.log (in spoiler tags, always!)

I believe I have told BWS about the proper install order, after that it's up to those folks to implement it, or not.

Again, please tell me what you are comparing to? You say R/C "should" get Combat Prayers, etc... according to what? (I'm not asking to challenge you, I just want to refer to the same information as you when I go about bug-fixing, and I don't know what you're looking at.)

As for what could be the issue, the most obvious possibility is that some of my code is off, and is assigning the wrong HLAs. :P If that's tne case, all you can do is give me as much information as possible to help me fix it, and wait for me to post an update.

I'm looking at the readme (i.e. Baldur's Gate 2/refinements/Docs/Revised_HLAs.txt). I can't compare accuracy with Thief and Bard classes since i'm not sure how they mix given that i have RR, but everything else should work as intended and described by the readme, no?

This isn't the first time i've used BWS or Refinments, last time i did (about 2 years back or so) it worked fine so i highly doubt it's your coding, most likely something in the install order got mixed up.

Okay, thanks for the report uaciaut. It was indeed down to typos and mistakes on my part, but they are fixed now. :)

All of the issues described above are fixed - including thieves still getting UAI which WAS in fact happening, even though he did not install that component so I don't know how he reported it, but somehow it was true!  Crazy.

The *one* bug I'm leaving as is - and Bigg or anyone else, please feel free to convince me otherwise - is I'm going to leave Smite on the Barbarian table.  Knocking an opponent back 10 feet and temporarily stunning them?  That just seems like the kind of thing a barbarian could do.

Anyway the link to the new version is here:

I'd agree with you on that. It's likely that the ability was added in a patch, but the readme not updated.
