This may be a long shot, but what the hell: has anyone got a suggestion about how to make "foosteps" for a snake? I'm editing creature INI files, mostly purging animations of associated sounds but in places putting sounds where there were none before. I suspect the iron golem really is a smooth operator and it's not just files missing in BG:EE. So some of the creatures are getting their special footsteps that I mixed up. Here are the earth elemental and the ice golem. Hopefully additions like this will inspire people to use monsters more often... other than as indifferent XP bags, that is. Maybe they will even want to listen to the world around them. But what to do with snakes? A moving creature emits walking sounds regularly, even if the animation has no legs. How can I make the sounds overlap for a constant ssslithering?

Did you try setting the "walk" sound in the INI? You'd have to time it right so it coincides with the frame rate (the length of the sound should match the time it takes to cycle through the whole "walking" animation).

That's what I did in the end. It isn't quite necessary for the sound to coincide with the "footsteps", it can be one long slithering, depending on how you time it. I fixed yuan-ti and salamanders. It's much ado about hardly anything, though, given that combat mutes all... Well, at least players will get to thunder about as iron golems with Shape Change.

You can set the combat to not silence the ambient noses if you so wish in the settings. Of course the combat music does go over that...

Yep, Jarno Mikkola. my Mega Mod FAQ. Use of the BWS, and how to use it(scroll down that post a bit).
OK, desert dweller, welcome to the sanity, you are free to search for the limit, it's out there, we drew it in the sand. Ouh, actually it was still snow then.. but anyways.

There is no such setting, Imp.
