Someone has said I can make new item categories. How about armor? Is it possible to separate armor types?

What do you mean? Like something beyond plate, chain, etc.?

The intention was that this should work, but i'm almost sure you cannot add new equipable item types. Since none of the official content required this, we use the 2da only to override sounds.

It works for most equip-able items just fine.
The main limitations are:
- it can only assign new weapons to only the mainhand or offhand, but not either
- it can not assign new categories to function as "shields".
- it can only assign new categories to specific quick-item slots (left, middle, right), rather than "any" quick item slot.
- it doesn't always highlight the slot for new categories when picking up the item.
