Looking for an action to make a creature walk out and in

The actions file has a bunch of options for moving creatures from one place to another, but the destination has to be a specific place. These actions take area codes and coordinates. I'm looking for something that will make a creature walk to a transition region, the nearest one, and use it to go wherever it leads. The only one that works in this universal way seems to be EscapeArea(), but the creature never emerges anywhere, it just vanishes. I'm working on a spell to control minor NPC and get them out of the party's way so they can steal and sneak undisturbed, but preferably without, in effect, killing the NPC. Is there an action that achieves this?
