Hi, Tom,

right. It was only needed to run the command I provided ( findstr /I "[setup" "BiG World Debug.txt" | findstr /I "WeiDU version" > weiver.txt ) from console in dir where the full BiG World Debug.txt is located  ;)  It will filter everything except setup and WeiDU version in a second, no manual moves needed. I see only TDD in your cut and it is 240. Well... it is enought< i think, to learn that not all setups are the same version. Strange that you have no complains during install...

See my in attachment. I have mods complaining about SUPPORT of 240, everything else is 244.

Anyway, I decided to try MegaMod after updating WeiDU.

To @All: it seems that there are some minor bugs in 18.1.2 like double saradas_magic_2, TheBeaurinLegacy requirements for manual component selection. I hope that Leonardo is well and we can help him to improve MegaMod install further.

Hi EvilMax:

I have a lot messed up.  Started a game. Went to my medical doctor.  Came home and found a mess.  The install loops around 1ppv4 where I have to choose between 1 and 2.  I never saw that before and it looped for over 2.5 hours.  So I killed the game.

What i need is more information.  I am not stupid, but as I get older I feel less and less of my brain works.  Here are some questions.

I understand "findstr /I "[setup" "BiG World Debug.txt" | findstr /I "WeiDU version" > weiver.txt".

Is there a bug in that line.  To me  there is only a left bracket "[". The right bracket "]" is missing.

Where is the line placed? The full path is E:\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\BiG World Debug.txt\. Is it placed in "BGII - SoA"? Is it placed in "BiG World Debug.txt"?

When is the line placed there? Before you start the installation? After the game is installed?

When is "weiver.txt" created? I know the "> weiver.txt" adds the information to the file with each cycle, but I am not sure it also creates the file.

I tried to place the line in BGII - SoA folder, but that did not workj. I places it as the first line in BiG World Debug.txt, but nothing happened.

I really have not used DOS since Windows XP but I have many DOS books and right now they are not helping.

Thanks for all your help. I really am getting to understand a little about BWP, but I have a lot more to learn.

Hi EvilMax:

Searched BiG World Debug.txt and I have four files with WeiDU v24000. They are Setup-TDD.exe, Setup-tb#quest.exe, Setup-tobr.exe and Setup-GUI.exe.

How do I change WeiDU 24000 into WeiDU 24400? I will try NI, but I am an amateur at that.

Tom, no bugs there. I didn't add full regexp trying to find strings starting from "[setup" and containig WeiDU. File is created immediately. Line should not be placed in files but should be executed in console (cmd.exe) after changing directory to where you installed BWP. Don't matter anyway. I see that you have the same versions as in my install. I advice you not to change weidu before I do so or don't touch it if you have no problems with newer statements in TP2 files.

Hi EvilMax:

Thanks for everything.  I wish I knew as much about these mods as you know.

Thanks to your help, my megamod games are loading and playable.  There is one component I need to find and remove that removed magic items from BG1 hiding places and I want to add Vlad's COmpilation v1.  At least the components from Vlad's Compilation that are in Leonardo's WeiDU.log.

Thanks again,

Tom

It's not a component, but a mod, called Item Revisions:
ITEM_REV #0 // Item Revisions by Demivrgvs: V4 Beta 10

Hi, All,

Rukrakia mod somehow messes with my SPWI705.spl - I have Rogue Rebalance complaining that this SPL file is broken, so 'Additional equipment for thieves and bards' won't install. Removed from my installation for now.

Does anyone have solution for this? For now I've just excluded this mod.

My findings:

1. saradas magic 2 still have double install - commented one

2. tb#quest requires to update WeiDU to > 243 (I updated to 246) to stop complaining on SUPPORT statement introduced from 243

3. tobr - WeiDU update, see above

4. Setup-GUI.exe - WeiDU update

5. tobr - saradush/scripts/bedo.baf  - timer should be suplied by number identifier instead of "bedocast" string. Latest weidu detects that and replaces by 0 identifier. I beleive no problem with that, but I've replaced byt reasonable number. (elder WeiDU did the same but silently)

6. tobr - requires to be TRAified: in cleansing dialog EraseJournalEntry("Cleansing the Temple of Bhaal...blah-blah-blah") - won't work, because EraseJournalEntry requires integer ID from TRA.

7. 1pp spell tweaks still throws an error, but it seems it doesn't matter     - no solution for now. Somehow it conflicts with prev. mods. But this isn't critical

8. Don't forget to set int_extra_prof = 0 in stat.ini of Scales of Balance!

9. The Calling requires fix. It was fixed some day, then broken again on v2... In .tp2 file %LIGHTHOUSE_BLACKALARICSCAVE_BCS.BCS% should be %LIGHTHOUSE_BLACKALARICSCAVE_BCS%.BCS Otherwise it will prevent some components from further mods to install (BP, BPSeries, some patcher...)

Well, I will try to fix more things and repeat now.

@The Imp, removal of the Rukrakia mod from installation fixed an issue (one of the changelogged mods that I never istalled before because was unable to find). I suspect its detectable spells component that conflicts somehow with other mods. It is strange, because NearInfility was able to open .SPL when RR script was not.

This is nothing strange at all, as one(NI) is a hex editor, that can show up any numbers it's given and then try to associate those things with the resources it's given. While the other(weidu) is a file editing program that is specifically coded to not ruin the files it's given. .. well, it's marcos are build for that. One can also make their own functions that ruin files, there's no problem with that, I have done so many times... but the marcos are community maintained and so they have a tendency to try not to ruin things, as they wouldn't be useful without that. Well, and also it helps to check the files to see if it's the correct one ... as you don't want to add lightning and acid damage to fireball and healing spells, generally. .. which is why all the mods today use ACTION_IF's in their patch functions, but those aren't always enough.

Yes, this sounds very reasonably. Mod was trying to read spell data by some offset and was unable to do so after Rukrakia and other mods. Maybe this is Rukrakia and Stratagems or other mods that also adds detectable spells that will lead to unusual data. Unfortunately Rurkrakia patches a lot of spells using patch table inside the mod and I am unable to find out where is the root cause.

Hi: EvilMax and The Imp:

Your last comments were very interesting,  I removed Rukrakia.  Fixed The calling. (Extracted the file.  Renamed "setup-the calling.tp2" to "setup-the calling.tp2.txt". Fix the '%". Renamed "setup-the calling.tp2.txt" to "setup-the calling.tp2".  Saved the changed file.)  Is there an easier way to do this?

I wish there was a book or file that explained how to use the tools in BWP. Some meds I had to take did a job on my brain power. But the comments that both of you post really help all to understand how to fix problems.

I am having trouble with Aurora's Shoes and Boots.  When it installs from BiG World Downloads to BGII - Soa, I get all errors, my guess is about 20 to 25.  I goes to fast to count. Trying a fresh download.  Maybe go back to v5.2.0 since the only change was a language was added,

Thanks for all your help,

TOM

I forgot.  In Section 19 where you scan all the mods, I get DIR2:TXT: 7.  What is this telling me?

Hi ALL:

This is dumb.  My page file is 25 GB.  The empty space on my hard drive is 411 GB.  The game stopped installing because i ran out of space.  The last file in WeiDU.lod is Setup-lolfixer.tp2 component #15.  Never had this problem before.

We have a wind storm right now.  Wind Speeds are 40 to 75 mph.  If the electric power flashed off and back on for a split second, would that kill the install?

TOM

Trying to restart.  Something is happening.  The message is "Unable to continue" or something like that.  It is now uninstalling and copying and all kinds of other things.  I will let you know it the game ends up installed.

TOM

You can open the .log and .tp2 files with Notepad. No need to rename a thing. The setup-filename.tp2 were created with Notepad by the by, in most cases at least... at least mine are.

If it takes your monitor etc off, yes, it also fails out your install.

The running out of space is an old and constantly resurfacing problem for various reasons... but one of the latest is to is to use the amd64 version of latest weidu.exe in install. And yes, you need a 64-bit OS/computer for that.

Hi The Imp:

The game was going well.  I changed the following.

1)  I did not have the Rukrakia mod so I assume it got installed from BWP.  I remove it from individual.bat command.  I checked and it did not install.

2)  I changed %LIGHTHOUSE_BLACKALARICSCAVE_BCS.BCS% to %LIGHTHOUSE_BLACKALARICSCAVE_BCS%.BCS.  I am using "thecalling-Beta_1.exe".  This did install.

3)  Installed Vlad's Compilation (VCv10.exe) This did install.

4)  Removed the second copy of Saradas_Magic_2 from individual.bat.  This mod installed at the end of Section 9. BWP has it in Section 11.  That one does not install.

5)  Installed a fresh copy of Auroras-Shoes-and-Boots-master.  This installs as v5.2.1.

Why am I posting this?  Well I got the message :

validate line 619 . . .

The syntax of the command is incorrect.

Not enough storage is available to process this command.

G:\Black Isle\BGII - SoA>

I know I have 411 GB of empty space on the hard drive.

The last line in the WeiDU.log in this game is "~SETUP-LOLFIXER.TP2~ #0 #15 // STORE STUFF - MAJESTIC Store Fixer: 19022016"

The only lines with reference in BiG World Debug.txt to the WeiDU.log line are:

1 File(s) copied
.\BiG World Fixpack\_Lolfixer\lolfixer_LOGGER.bat
.\BiG World Fixpack\_Lolfixer\lolfixer_ONLY_DEBUG_MODE.bat
.\BiG World Fixpack\_Lolfixer\setup-lolfixer.tp2
.\BiG World Fixpack\_Lolfixer\lolfixer\Area Stuff - MAJESTIC Area  Fixer.txt
.\BiG World Fixpack\_Lolfixer\lolfixer\Introduction & stuff.txt
5 File(s) copied

Installing [Store Stuff - MAJESTIC Store Fixer] [19022016]
Copying and patching 544 files ...

SUCCESSFULLY INSTALLED      Store Stuff - MAJESTIC Store Fixer

I open BiG World Debug.txt in WordPad as it opens much faster.

The next and last line after this in individual.bat is Generalized Biffing.

Please, does anyone know a solution.  Which mods interfere?  I had this problem the last time I tried to install this mod.  Before, the megamod was installing.

Thanks for any help,

TOM

Tom, do you have 411G on the drive or specifically on G: disk? What is last in BiG World debug TXT file? Well, power outage could possibly break something inside the MegaMod dir. It could end up with necessity to start with clean BG2 and fresh MegaMod installation (i.e. copy your prepared mods and start installer again)

Hi EvilMax:

Well I loaded another game and it crashed just like the first one to day.

I have six partitions.  They are C:\, D:\, E:\, F:\ G:\ and H:\.  Each partition has 465 GB.  I use G:\ for my BGT game.  With all the game files, including the installed game, this time the files occupy ~67 GB.  The remaining ~398 GB are empty.

After installing the Baldur's Gate\Tales of the Sword Coast game I make a 7z backup.  Same with BGII - SoA\Throne of Bhaal game.  I also make a 7Z backup.  But this includes the extracted four BWP files and the PCU file.  The BiG World Downloads are cleaned up before each new game.  To start a new game, a fresh individual.bat file is added with the latest upgrades.  So unless something happens to the registry or my BGII - S0A.7z file, the game at start should always be the same. Windows Defender and  Microsoft Security Essentials are both turned off.

I am now using System Restore to restore my system to 02/21/2019.  I will see what happens when it is restored.  By the way, I had three computers running on the same power line when the lights flashed.  The other two computers show no sign of problems.  One still has a BGT game working.

As to fixing The Calling vBeta 1 and vBeta2, I am assuming you need to use NI to fix them.  If yes, please tell us how.

Thanks for your comments,

Tom, I dunno what exactly should be fixed in existing installs with problems in The Calling because I didn't dig where this problem was spread. In fresh install it is enough to make edits to .tp2 files you already done as I understood.

Sad with your PC. But if you have problems in registry you'll fail on BGT stage or earlier. But your install crashed somewhere on the last stage. I would check the hard drive for errors but this is just guess.

Hi EvilMax:

More new stuff that has not happened until a few days ago.  When installing AC_QUEST, I have to answer about 10 questions.  Each question has multiple choices which I do not understand.  Time for a fresh AC_QUEST mod and see if that works the same way.

Did a RESTORE and now loading a new game.  I will get an answer in about five hours.  The AC_QUEST questions are still here.

TOM

New version (AC_QUEST v2.05) released 17 days ago.  Will try that.
