Playing mod for first time.

1. Entered house in High Hedge area and discovered werewolf. Werewolf turns RED, so killed werewolf (tough battle for low level party - had to reload several times). Earned only 420exp...looked very low.

2. Outside of Thalantyr castle, woman (Aiwell), accuses me of not trying and my reputation goes down - totally confused???

3. Talk to Thalantyr and he talks about ingredients for a potion and even indicates an option that I should bring him the body if I kill the werewolf

4. Well I have the body but he does not recognize that I have the body.

So I reload and talk to Aiwell and Thalantyr before going to the house.

I understand that the Quest requires that I talk to Aiwell and Thalantyr before I visit the house, but unless I metagame I wouldn't know that.

Suggestions:

1. Put Aiwell outside the house with the werewolf and not outside Thalantyr's castle. That would ensure I get the quest.

2. Add an option to kill the werewolf, have Thalantry make a potion from the body, then raise Tendor and use the potion.  That is implied by the dialog and so its absence appears to be a bug.

Definite bug:  Thalantyr not recognizing that I have Tendor's body.

PS:  I tried to post this on the German Baldur's gate forum, but although I translated the website I could not see any option to post a comment, so I am adding here in hopes it goes to the right person.

Thank you very much for the suggestions! I'll add them to my notes for the next version.

You need a user account at Kerzenburgforum to post. If you have one and the forum was still a mystery, I could send you a screenshot. Posting there in English is no problem, at least. But you were right that posting here (with a useful threadname) is also a good way for me to see it.

What is AC?

Low hung brow, dazed look on your face..... It appears that you are correct, my friend. You are indeed a complete imbecile.

I'm almost sure it's Ascalon's Quest Pack :)

Thanks to both of you.

It's the first time I hear about it. German community is so polivalent and really gets out a lot of juicy content. I find it a shame most of the content from that community is in German (last but not least Breagar and your mod, Soulafein's rescue  ;))

Yes, sorry about the German versions... Translating is a tedious task, and it always has to wait if I am working on new content or updates, so...

No worries, I can wait. Your content is great and as such, I'm willing for the sacrifice  :lol2:

Thank you for the kind words! Breagar is from Ascalon though, in case you are not aware.

Just for the record: the werewolf does not just turn red. Upon entering it is neutral, and a dialogue should pop up, giving the player the possibility to either withdraw (i.e. group is teleported back outside) or to attack.

If this dialogue did not show up for you, it's a bug. Still, the werewolf should not turn red without being attacked, first.

Jastey,

Clarification:  Yes when I first entered the house, the werewolf is Blue and a dialog opens which gives me the choice of attack or retreat.  I initially choose 'retreat' but all that did was push me outside. No option to speak to the werewolf.  I figured it was a safeguard if the party was too low level.  So I went back in and chose 'attack'.  A character either died or lost more than half their HP the first couple of tries but finally was able to kill the werewolf with nobody dying and nobody taking over half their HP in damage (I was not sure if lycanthropy curse is active in game but did not want to take any chance.).   At this time I still knew nothing bout the Mod.

The werewolf turned RED by choosing the attack option in the dialog.  It did not stay blue until I physically attacked.

That sounds as if it works as intended. The "party is teleported back outside" wasn't for protecting lower level parties but to make sure the player doesn't kill the werewolf unless he really wants to, though. I see that the concept is not as clear as it was supposed to be.

Anyway, the new version is up and now, the quest can be completed in a happy way even though the werewolf was killed upon sight before talking to Aiwell. Thank you for the suggestion!

Let me know whether it works. I tested several paths, but usually players find 4 more I didn't consider. :)
