Hello there, I've just started modding Baldur's Gate for the first time recently and decided to go with the Baldur's Gate Trilogy mod as well as this graphics mod. Excuse me if I'm asking stupid questions, but here I go.

Apparently there's a 4.20 version of this mod on github, but it's rather bizarre as it has no installation .exe nor does it have a config file to install properly. What's up with this? All the github links to the config are dead and it just isn't the download. Was this for real or just some bizarre dead end? is 4.10 still the real version of the mod?

On to my question about performance now, so I've pretty much installed everything in the mod and it just ruined the game's performance big time. The moment I order characters to move about, the framerate crawls to single digit numbers. My computer should be more than capable to handle the game, so I highly doubt the issue is hardware. Tried installing just a few components at a time to find out what the massive framerate killers are and "Increased paperdoll object variety" really did a number on performance. So I tried installing the mod without it and still the game tanked in framerate. In the end I had to go with a very minimal installation to keep the game playable. Still, kinda miffed about having to limit everything. Am I doing something wrong? Is there some sort of trick or feature that needs to be done to make everything work properly?

The v4.20.... is likely yet to released parts of the mod. Why, cause the thing needs more work...

Yep, Jarno Mikkola. my Mega Mod FAQ. Use of the BWS, and how to use it(scroll down that post a bit).
OK, desert dweller, welcome to the sanity, you are free to search for the limit, it's out there, we drew it in the sand. Ouh, actually it was still snow then.. but anyways.

Hmm, well alright. Any idea about the performance issues though? Is it just not feasible to install all the mod's components or is there some way of making it all work without tanking performance?

1PP v4.20 is a WIP update. The only purpose of this github repo is to save fixes that work fine. There are still a few points to be solved. Once all components will be tested, the repo will be moved to the SHS one and an official release announcement will be made.

As for your problem, did you run Generalize biffing at the end of your install? I currently run 4 install configurations to test 1PP and I never encountered such troubles.

Generalize biffing? Forgive my grand ignorance but I know not what that is.

Oh man, the difference is night and day. Didn't know about that mod/process/whatever before. The game's playable now with all the 1PP features installed after running generalization process. Well, sorry for wasting everybody's time with my ignorance and stupidity.

Don't forget to run it when playing "mega installs". Original IE games often lag when there are thousands files in override folder. ;)

Nope. It has nothing to do with the AMOUNT of files, but whether or not they are MEDIA files.
