Errors and doubts with DSOTSC

Hi.

I just installed the mod Dark side of the Sword Coast in Spanish language in the enhanced edition trilogy.

but the descriptions of the new objects leave me with grammatical errors. They come out with @ or with punctuation marks in some letters

Will they know why? I am using version 3.2 which said it already had a Spanish translation.

What I think is that how to install the mod in the middle of a game (as soon as chapter 3 started) because it is corrupted or something.

I also wanted to ask you, does this mod add equipment to merchants and priests? It was just that I was watching a series of a youtuber and I saw that weapons and equipment for paladins were coming out from the priest of the temple of lazanther, for example, a helmet called "helmet of the sacred guard) which is blue or a red sword called" sword champion. "

If you install any mods, you need to start a new game to have a chance of a good clean game.

The punctuation marks could be transition errors between new and old .tra coding, aka the translation characters are supposed to be the languages own code language, and that could result in odd things in old mods, if they haven't been checked out recently.

And if for example "clean" 1 map and if this mod adds an object like ... a weapon or a ring. will no longer appear if I visit again ?.

I say this because the equipment I am talking about does not appear in the temple of lazanther. and other things, that in the youtuber series do appear, but in my game they do not.

Although there is also the possibility that they are added from other mods. Because he installed everything with the big world setup and I am installing it one by one

Well, if you have already visited the area in a save that the change would happen, it won't be there in the save when you go back, but if you load from a previous save that you hadn't visited there before, it will be there...

The starting a new game, usually is done because the saves also carry a dialog file that carries all the games texts and item etc descriptions as numbers, and so loading a save from before that can leave your game in a bad state, it will be playable, but could be hard to follow things ... say a character says a item description as it's dialog, and you have no means of responding to that, while you should have options to respond with.

Well, load a very old game with the pj that I currently use. and if new objects appear. But they keep coming up with the failed descriptions. I guess I'll have to create a new one to see if it fixes

 

 

Edit: I have started a new game with a dwarf. and the descriptions keep getting misspelled

There are two versions of this mod: one for BG:EE, and this one for BGT/EET. This mod version for BGT/EET was nerfed and some overpowered items were removed.

Good.

Apparently the problem is the version. Since I installed version 3.1 and the texts were fixed, but they continue with spelling errors. But at least they no longer have numbers or signs instead of letters hahaha

Well, instead of signs and numbers, rewritten syllables or misspelled words in the Spanish language come out. But nothing serious, as it happens to me with version 3.2

Are you saying the Spanish version is of low linguistic quality or do you mean a technical problem? I don't speak Spanish so I can't judge.

Yes, what is happening is that I am a bit obsessive and it makes me nervous that the object descriptions have misspellings. I know it's nonsense. But at least in version 3.1 it is more passable than in 3.2

The IE modding lives from volunteer work. If you provide a proof read translation, I'll pack a new DSotSC version. :)
And oh: I totally get that typos are a nuisance (up to immersion breaking).

You can find the original translation files typically in the mods TRA -folder and the english is the typical norm of origin, but not always, the files are always today normal text file just ending with a .tra extension, that can be opened with any text file editor like Notepad, Notepad++ and similar programs. There's more, like the codepage usage, but that's language specific...

So there you go.
